I have been thinking of getting tires as well as what tires do I want when I need them. It seems there are good reviews for the Ripsaws and Evos here so I wanted to get some information together. Here is a chart I made to compare size/weight/cost to the Bighorn 2.0

Bighorn 2.0
27x9x14 22.25 lbs $345 a set from Amazon
27x11x14 27.8 lbs weight from Dennis Kirk website

28x9x14 22.4 lbs $523 a set from Amazon
28x11x14 28 lbs weight from mudthrowers.com

Ripsaw
27x9x14 30.2 lbs $490 a set from Amazon
27x11x14 37 lbs weight from manufacturer website

28x10x14 36.5 lbs $130 a piece from Amazon

Evolution
27x9x14 27.8 lbs $621 a set from Amazon
27x11x14 31.8 lbs weight from manufacturer website

28x9x14 29.8 lbs $652 a set from Amazon
28x11x14 33 lbs weight from manufacturer website

Roctane XD

27x9x14 28.6 lbs
27x11x14 31.9 lbs weight from mud-throwers.com

28x10x14 37.3 lbs

Any thoughts on the weight difference?

I like the Ripsaw's better, Evos seem to look like would be running on only the center lugs.

I prefer the bighorn originals over the 2.0's and they'll be closer to what the other two weights are. The weight savings on the 2.0 is just less rubber in the tire. That's either going to relate back to either how they wear or the integrity of the tire and how puncture resistant they are. Obviously weight is weight and it's more noticeable on a wheel or tire than in the bed. But I don't know how much it impacts the 1000. I'm going with the evos or bighorn originals next time.

The Ripsaws look good but they are 6 ply.
Evo's are 8 ply. I have 28's and like them.
Personally, on this machine I'm gonna stick with 8 ply. Its' a huge difference over the 4 ply Bighorns 2s.

One of the things I want to check out at the Take Over, everyone's tires. Try to get first hand look at as many as I can.

My ONLY concern with Evos is how they'll hold up on blacktop.
I'm not sure how they will hold up on blacktop. I'm street legal, and if I know that I'm not hitting the trails any time soon( witch is not often) I will put the stock tires on, and cruise around.

Evos are a little too expensive to be tearing up asphalt. Plus it's just out of their element. The bighorns do my street duty and actually do quite well.

I just want to know if they would stand up to the blacktop compared to a bighorn.

Not good at all. It could be because the last time I used them was on a P700 and The lack of turf mode wore them down pretty good.
I hate to hear that.. I'd love to go with evos next time but I just don't think I'll be happy with the wear.

I'll be there with my Ripsaws. Your welcome to check out how they ride.
I have found that trails and mud they are awesome. Hard surfaces not so much. real bumpy. And I'm talking when I ride them in the street, which is hardly ever. If I were to upgrade rides I'd take the with me for sure

Mine are showing wear just from riding but they are close to a year old. Good tires just don't last. At least not for me lol
