I looked at a few people’s pictures and tried to glean what I could from YouTube and conversations @trigger enabled me to cobble together a Snorkel and also extend all the vent lines up into the top of the ROPS. I bought a kit of male ended hose adapters and 20’ of 1/8” ID and 10’ of 1/4”. I ran the 1/8 ID line for the front and rear differentials and the radiator vent line. I used the 1/4 line for the fuel vent. I had wanted to use 1/4” for everything but the two parts stores had limited supplies and had to just make do. All the vent lines terminate above the rear of the passengers headroom except for the fuel vent line. That’s above the drivers head. I left it long and wrapped it around the cage in case I ever need extra line on the trail. Or a melted Polaris needs rescuing. I ran a line for each vent and didn’t splice any together. I did not feel comfortable drilling into the frame to run the hoses inside the frame so I wound it around the ROPS and zip tied at various locations. I’m not too worried about hiding the lines and how it looks, and I tied them to back side the cage so as to not get grabbed by wayward branches.
The Snorkel- It was more of a challenge than I thought being somewhat mechanically and mathematically challenged. Although I managed to make due in the long run. I looked at maybe three different members like @badbowtie and @Appalachainriders builds and estimated all the various 45* 90* sweeps, streets straights.......anyway I apparently didn’t need as many parts as some of you other folks did. After cutting the stock intake line with a little too much extra on the end. I didn’t want to have too little when done so I took off a little at a time until I could get it right. At first I dry fit everything and then realized the seat backrest wouldn’t fit. So, I had to remove more of the intake, to the point where I needed to remove the flat part of the plastic bracing on the side. I cut it at an angle to keep some integrity and I only needed enough space for the Fernco to slide into place. Before I installed it, I cleaned the area with a heavy grit sandpaper. I finally managed to get all right after waaay too many tries . Lol. After glueing it I put about four coats of OD Green spray paint. I topped the PVC part of the Snorkel off with the commercial one I got from @JTW at the last takeover. So thanks for that Mr Wat. Son of a gun, it wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be.

I also tightened up and lifted the SSS Off-road UHMW under armor sliders/rockers where the bolts had come out over time and rocks. I’m Changing the oil tomorrow and starting to build a new rear storage box.

While I had the rear rack and fenders off, I managed to get a little deeper with the shop vac and remove built up debris sitting on top of the under armor.

A Couple of the creeks we crossed at Takeover convinced me that I needed to address this. That and the Idaho dust.

Would there ever be reason to extend the exhaust line ? Like for driving underwater?

I extended mine because there was a couple times back when I had 30s on it that I was crossing long stretches of water about dash deep that the engine shut off from me letting off the gas, and I just managed to get it started back quickly before the water filled the exhaust and hit the engine. I seen the writing on the wall and built my exhaust stack piped back to the muffler stinger. I have a build thread somewhere on here. I would build it different if I were to do it again, to make it easier to take the bed off. Instead of the pressed together union where the alumimum exhaust pipe meets the steel exhaust and has a couple of screws in it, I would make the union out of a high temp silicon coupling, like on the turbos of cars, with a couple of hose clamps holding it tight. The water crossings we were doing we were submerged for atleast a couple of minutes from the time you drove in, until you drove out. If you only dip yours under crossing a little narrow mountain creek or something for 15 seconds I wouldnt worry about it. As long as youre on the gas you dont have to worry. The problem comes when you come up behind someone else in front of you and you let off the gas and the engine drops down to an idle. I dont think the little P5 has enough compression to run for extended idle times with the exhaust tip under water. Just my 2 cents. :)
