P700 Street Legal Kit Question

New to the community and side by sides! Quick question to start it off for me, I see a lot of kits online to make the Pioneer street legal. Is there a kit that you guys highly recommend over all others?

Welcome and good luck with your new venture. I installed a Ryco kit on my 1000. There were a few splices that had to be made so I wouldn’t exactly call it plug and play but the install is fairly straight forward. The reason I chose this kit was that it has the turn signal stalk mounted where your use to finding the blinkers on all cars so it is ergonomic in that respect.

We've had good luck with either SuperAtv or XTC

XTC kits are model specific, so there si no extra or extending wires.r They use the taillights on alot of kits for the rear so less drilling and finding a location for the rear signals. They also have lighted switches with different self canceling times and hazards.

I can only speak to Michigan and say the 700 has a spool in the rear which will never make the cut as far as the law goes.
If you get an inspection with a LEO that is
sympathetic to your needs it may pass but should any accident or unfortunate event occur that could be a concern for you.
If your not in Michigan just check all of the specifics before spending your money on a project that you may not give the results you are looking for.

Excellent Advice. Didn’t dawn on me that the 700 was spooled. That could be very dangerous on pavement at even mild speed.

I had to look up what spooled was. Anyway, yeah so it's always locked. I would hate that in parking lots and such. I didn't know that would be a problem here in MI as far as street-legalizing though.

That is the point I was going to chime in with though. I'm assuming you're just asking about turn signal kits, maybe with a horn or something - but you need to be aware that your state may have several requirements. Here in MI, for example, they require a mechanical parking brake.

Please educate yourself on local regulations of what street legal really means, can you even do it, etc. I am sure there are some who have done it in there locality - but for the most part - these will never be “street legal” jump on the major highways, etc. Not sure what you are trying to do.


With that said - in my area - there are local munincipalities that have short, in town, designated atv/db/sxs routes and none of that crap is required.

When we go to WV, same deal - ride on the streets and never stopped, cops always wave back at us, and none of us have that stuff right wrong or indifferent. But then again we go slow, no acting up and use arms as turn signals - lol.

Very real issues for sure.
My biggest concern over street legal for me is not wanting to ever be in an accident at 45-50 mph with an offroad vehicle.
Even at a very modest speed of 25 mph a typical 1/2 ton pickup weighs approximately 5600 lbs and can impart 117,002.5 ft lbs of energy in an accident.
We see everyday the results of an inattentive driver on the roads throughout the U.S.
Sure I bounce from trailhead to trailhead or even jump down the shoulder where permitted at times yet I would not feel comfortable driving with mixed traffic on public roads.
Best wishes to the O.P my only request is that of many on here and that would be to do your research and weigh all pros and cons.

I should clarify tho, I really don't plan on using it like a car that much...I'm more concerned on having what I need when I'm on the road to get gas or things like that...I'm in SC and for the most part they seem to be laid back on allowing people to use them around here...
