For some reason, I’ve got it in my head that I need a 1000. I’ve been running a 500 for a few years and love it. Help me come back to my senses!

If I could have any machine out there I’d still be happy with our 1000-5. Now that the problems are handled I can’t not suggest that machine fully. There’s some benefits and negatives either way but most are based off someone’s needs. The starting over part sucks sometimes

This will sound dickier or more arrogant than it is intended but if you can afford the top why not get it?
I've had buddies with gators and mules and rangers and can am mavericks (I think the can am is the maverick?). None compared performance-wise to the 1000-5 I decided on. Plus I needed it for my family of 5 without the thing being as long as a dang truck. I've ridden my buddy's 700 pioneer and there is no comparison there, either. I'm not a guy that needs to go 60+ down the road or trail but maxing out at barely above golf cart speeds isn't ideal either. Plus that extra power for hauling wood and rocks and crap around my property made a 1000 a no brainer.

Keep the 500 for plowing and tight trails. If I just had to add a second machine, it wouldn't be the P1, it'd be a Talon! ;)

I can’t have two machines or I’d consider that. I need something capable of doing some work, so the talon is out for me. And it’s too much money anyway.

You guys haven’t done a very good job...

So is anyone deeply discounting 1000-5 models in the mid Atlantic? I’d like to buy in Ohio or NY or WV.

I got mine from RG Honda in Clarksburg WV. They are my closest dealer. On their website it had the 2018 1000-5 deluxe as basically new price but they price match other dealers with a quote. The quote has to have everything on it (taxes, fees....etc). I got a quote from a heavily discounted dealer in the state and didn’t have to drive far to get it (would have been a 2 hour drive for me at the other dealer).
