I have the check in my hand. Sunday I will begin the 700 mile journey to pick her up!

Congrats where are you going to get it? Call ahead and request the alignment be set correctly. I'll guarantee if it hasn't been fixed since leaving the factory it's wrong.

Abernathy’s. I told the salesman yesterday to have it checked. I doubt they will actually do it. You know how they are

How much should the 60 month warranty cost? I am considering buying it when I get there.

I wouldn't buy it. I bought it on my first one and never needed it so I didn't buy it on the second machine. It comes with 1 year warranty if it doesn't break by then you'll be fine.

@hondabob has 19k miles on his with only $30 in repairs.

From the sounds of it trying to make a warranty claim is not easy either.

If anyone is near Abernathy’s tomorrow let me know. I’m leaving early tomorrow and staying at a hotel in union city. I could probably handle having a beer or two tomorrow night. Hopefully no issues getting there. Fingers crossed

It’s 12:30 AM and I just laid down after being on the road for 12 hours.

My new 1000-5 has 2 miles on it. And I am super pissed.

Per advice here, I told my salesman to have the alignment checked. Everything is fine he said.

When he got it out of the shop from being prepped, he drove it right on my trailer. Which I thought was weird.

Got home and took it down the road. Steering wheel isn’t even straight! After a 2 minute ride, it feels really toed out like the tires are fighting each other.

Trying to cool off and sleep... obviously they didn’t do as I asked, so I’m sure the software update isn’t done either.

Not exactly the way I imagined feeling after finally making it home after a 1400 mile trip

That sucks man! Especially when you’re coming from so far and asked. However it’s easy and most of us had to do it too. They definitely come s***ty. We’ll get some much needed sleep tomorrow is a new day

I did a little searching on here about the issue and yeah, I saw that plenty has been posted about the issue. Do you know if anyone has ever done a how to?

So...
I was able to save around $3000 by making the trip.

The bad:
1400 miles, about 22 hours of driving (7:00 AM Sunday - 12:00 AM Monday)
$320 for fuel
$98 for hotel
Poorly prepped machine (steering wheel not straight, alignment off)... hopefully no other issues!

Net savings is well over $2000. I just hope I don’t ever need to take this thing to a dealer!

Oh yeah. I have at least two! Lol.

I have some alignments on atvs before. But those were basket case cheap machines that I was just going to flip.

I want to make sure the new 1000 is dead nuts and done right

Look through here and see if this is easy enough. It’s really not bad once you do it one time. P1000 - Front- end alignment
