Well, I miscounted my hatch lid inventory so I’m ordering more. I didn’t realized I’d used that many. Website will show out of stock on cargo box kits. However if anyone is interested in a kit I can ship the metal components now and follow up with the hatch lids. That’s the last item for assembly anyway.

Update on hatch lids:
Placed the order this morning and should have these around June 21. The supplier is FAST! This is the only item I import for the cargo boxes because I haven't found this style from a US manufacturer. I tried a screw in type hatch that I could order from Dallas, TX but I didn't like those in 4" and 6" wouldn't work. The lever style works perfectly for easy open and close in the location.

Finally got around to welding one up.

it’s been over a year since i did much Tig welding so I’m a little rusty.
Fitment is excellent.

Send another X4-p box to powder coat today. I'm excited that my TIG skills have greatly improved in less than 1 bottle of argon! Thought I would have more welded up but life interrupted.

Having a few more boxes laser cut today also. I have to tag on when the shop cuts aluminum because it may be several weeks before the next aluminum run.

These are ready to go to powder coat the week of sept 20. I’m getting much better and faster with the TIG welder and the technique.

These will be ready to purchase after powder coat in 2 weeks. I’ve stated on my website listings that if you want one then you can purchase ahead of time and I’ll put your name on one till they are ready to ship. That’s not a problem.

More will be ready to weld up about the time these come back from powder coat. I have to fall into the shop schedule of when they cut aluminum. A little inconvenient but the laser cut is so accurate that’s it’s worth it.

If you want a cargo box and can paint or powder coat yourself or have it done locally, I’ll knock $20 of the price for an unpainted but otherwise complete box.

why are you coating the aluminum boxes?

no corrosion, they look good as is?

Mainly because the aluminum always has surface scratches from the automated loading and unloading in and out of the laser cutter. There is no way to avoid this. I don’t like selling them like that as a finished product because it doesn’t look good.
