gotta swap my 6-1 wheels out for 5-2 if I cannot find spacers locally. (I already have the 5-2 wheels but they don’t match exactly)

Looks great, why the need for 5/2? Interested to see how it drives for you. Are you doing anything for speedo or ABS correction?

The tire / wheel hits the portal backer plate with 14” wheels.
22’s might clear in 6-1 offset.

I’m running a PV3 tuner with canned tune from dynojet. (Happy with it so far)

Well, looking forward to hearing how it drives, in particular the handling with the scrub radius being impacted greatly.

First ride,
The geardown helps immensely with shifting, power on tap and crawl ability.
(this is how it should be shifting all the time) = better than stock W 28’s in auto.

Quite a bit More feedback through the steering wheel.
(potentially enough to consider a sandcast rack and stabilizer and or larger power steering unit)
Small bump compliance definitely diminished (slightly)
Big bump compliance is still very good.

ITS A BEAST!

Rode Saturday and actually tore some muscles in my shoulder from the steering wheel getting blown out of my hands when going fast across rough tundra.

So I bought the EPowersteering.com kit.
Got here today, installed it this afternoon, tested it just now.
Works amazing.

Steering effort is lower than stock PS without the portals.
Less feedback through the wheel also.

Let us know the improvement you find with the new powersteering after a trail ride, curious to see how it works on the trail.

Bottom line.

If you want portals?

Plan on buying the PS upgrade at the same time.

Interesting you say this, I wonder if the Talon has a lower powered, power steering motor than the Pioneer, or if yours was just weak? I have no issues turning 35" with my stock unit in my Pioneer unless in 4 low with the front diff locked.

Thanks for the pics and you have a great looking rig! Let us know how the install going and any issues you may run into.

The stock ps motor turns them fine.
Slow speed is no problem.
Trails are no problem.

Fast speed the PS unit overheats (happens After about 300 yards of high speed tundra)

Imagine “tundra” as being volkswagon size boulders covered in moss.
Ultimate traction, tires grab and pull back and forth as you go through.

I want to be able to go 25 mph through them like i did without the portals. (It was no problem before)

This steering upgrade definitely helps that ability.

In testing i ran 15 mph over 12-16” logs at a 45 degree angle. Only a minor bump in the steering wheel with one hand holding it.
^^^^that was my goal.........
