Where you going in MI again?
We are planning a week at Drummond. We are taking my wife's sister with her fiancé. It will be the fiancé's first time at the cabin. We plan on boating, fishing, pioneer riding, kayaking, and visiting mackinac island. Basically an activity per day.

Drummond Island is a lot closer to us than Pioneer, 10-O-See. Still a haul but will definitely make it up there sometime.

We typically go at least once per year. My wife wants to make it more often, I am hoping when the two of us work together our schedules can allow more time to go places. We will keep you posted and hook up at some point. I think it would be fun.

Door Baggies & A Bed Extender: 07-03-23

I installed some kemi-moto door bags on the front doors. I cut the top clips off the bag straps, and melted a new hole in the strap nylon to pass a bolt through for mounting. I used the rivnut/jacknut to put threads into the doors. So far they seem decent. They will be used for storage during trail rides when rear passengers are present to increase storage capacity.

I installed the Rough Country Bed Extender. I purchased a used complete tailgate on ebay for $78. I attached the new extender to the tailgate. With the used tailgate and tailgate quick removal mod I can swap out tailgates within 5 minutes.

This is my Rough Country Bed Extender review.

New Shoes: 07-04-23

I got my new at home wheels and tires set. I plan to keep these for at home use and use my SuperATV Intimidator tires for the trail. The Intimidators seem like a soft rubber and are wearing out quickly on the local blacktop.

These are 30x9.50r15 Achilles Desert Hawk MT DOT tires. On a set of Falcon Ridge Raptor 15x7 4/137 5+2 wheels. I took some red inserts and sanded them down to spray paint them orange. I added orange alloy gators to the wheel lip. I think they turned out awesome! I am hoping my new tires will outlast the machine.

I installed the @Farmer tailgate cables today. They look great and level the gate nicely. Thank you!

So Many Layers: 07-20-23

I installed the trigger quick shield today over the top of the bayouownbeer shield which is also over the top of the factory rubber flap. Getting the back on took alot of wiggling and redoing of bolts to line it all up. The next time the back comes off I am going to try to stud the bolts. Everything works great and I hope it makes for a nice cool ride. I had to shim the bottom seat latch to make up for the layers of added thickness. I used the factory plate and moved it under the latch. I added a washer per bolt and the seat bottom clicks in and out like it should.

Balance Your Weight: 07-21-23

I installed the RB3 door bushings on the rear doors this morning. I added a chain with a caribiner on the interior of my door storage mod to help hold the heavy stuff up near the hinges to reduce door sag.

20230721 085025

I drilled four 11/32" holes into the end of the door.

20230721 085316

Placed the chain interior of the door. I cut it longer than anticipated to cut shorter later after I figure out how well Iike this system.

20230721 085515

I used 180lb zip ties to secure the chain to the door.

20230721 085521

I repeated the same process for the lower chain and added a caribiner.

20230721 090817

I used my power probe to cut the zip ties to make them nice and smooth.

20230721 090855
20230721 090908

There is plenty of room for the zip ties in the hinged area.

20230721 091516

Now heavy things like my D-hooks and snatch block can stay up top near the hinge to hopefully help the crazy door sag.

20230721 091605

I did this to both rear doors.

20230721 091624

At some point I may replace the chain with something lighter like a choke cable or maybe bungee cord.

Wait - this is my first time seeing the July 5 pics - how are those front tires off the ground in that pic? Who knew a P1000 could pull a wheelie? I'm 99.9% sure mine can't, or at least I've never given it the clutch slam to try...

Rear door sag is the reason I never have done the storage mod, the RB3 bushings really helped though.

I had to work really hard to get that shot. Adobe was very helpful. I was going for the top spot in the ROTM :p
