For those considering a 2023 r2 and are going to want to upsize the tires, remember the front tires have been moved back about 2in. From previous models. My 30's are about as close as I would want them, 32's will probably work but don't think 35's will

I just traded my Pioneer for a 23 Talon R LV and 35's will not work. I'm told by dealership that 33's will work.

My tires measured exactly 30in. Have 1 3/4in to the rear of the wheel opening at ride height full lock turn, don't know anything about full stuff yet. I have the Honda fender extensions, don't think they affect this measurement more than 1/4in at most. All tires measure different, I would want to make sure there was a full refund guarantee discussed here. Hope this works for you, keep us updated

It's time for Honda to regear the Talon (internally) for larger tires, 32" is the new minimum. Come on Honda, step up to the plate. While you're in there, Low range needs to be much lower, we've been complaining about that since the Talon's introduction.

Well the dealer was wrong, 33’s do not clear and will rub fender when suspension is compressed and wheels turned all the way. Waiting on a solution from the dealer. Only option may be 32's as it appears nobody has forward a-arms for a 2023 Talon 1000R Live Valve.

My understanding is all that it takes is putting the upper and lower a-arms from a 19-22 model and you can fit 35s again. That’s what I will be doing if I pick up a 23.

Axles and tie rods the same length? I know the axle nut is different, shouldn't matter. I would expect the ball joints to be the same. Not something I'm planning to do, I like the turning radius vs my '21 but curious

Yes I have not done this or do I currently own a true 2023 Talon but that is what I have picked up on in my research. I am in the debate of getting an R4 and if I do I would be putting 35s on it right away. The only difference in the parts to make it work is the upper and lower a-arms. I already have 2 brand new after market upper a-arms for the 19-22 talon R. If I buy an R4 I will be buying arched lowers and putting the 35s on. It will affect the turning radius some but that is the only bad thing I have seen. A guy on one of the Fakebook pages has done it with an R4 already. I personally don’t like that they shortened the wheel base and limited the tire size on the new 23’s.

Great info and thanks for sharing. I’ve done some research and have not found anything for the 23 live valve in the form of forward a-arms. I, like you would rather have the clearance than turning radius.

They did that to the R model strictly for racing purposes. A shorter wheelbase turns quicker and moving the front wheels back some gives it a slightly better front bias. A guy I raced with back in 2021 did that to his R model and knocked 3/4 of a second off his lap times.

My dealership contacted me today and said that Super ATV said this will not work on the 23 1000R Live Valve and will cause shock faults with the Live Valve system.

I'd be curious to know what kind of faults with the Live Valve system. I've seen a couple guys use the pre '23 a arms on the new R models recently. To my knowledge they haven't had any issues.

Dealer has installed pre '23 arms on a 1000R LV with 35's and is testing now. If anything, I would think the shock mounting point on the a-arm could be moved back for "factory" orientation of the shock and make the system happy if it's that sensitive. I was hoping I could get SATV high clearance arms for a pre '23 to work, but when they contacted SATV that's what they told them, it caused faults with the LV system.

That makes no sense at all.

@SuperATV, can you explain to us how the LV shock knows what angle they are at as viewed front to back and how this sets fault codes and what those codes are?

Also, find a new dealership.
