Joeymt33, you have good taste as every project has been installed with a level of quality I hold my self to! I haven't done a lot to mine as of yet but, I'm no stranger to custom one of a kind mods, my ranger crew is one of a kind. One thing I haven't seen yet is a multi mount winch set up for the P1K5D. Any plans to add one to your build?

I have thought about it but I've done fine with out for years. If I ride alone, it may be a good idea.

I guess when I get itching to find something new to add, I may give it a shot. I've been hesitant to use the hitch as a mounting location as I'm worried about its strength in a pull that's anything but straight.

I did add some permanent mounted tow straps to the rear. Have you checked those out?

I have. Great Idea! I will most likely borrow that idea from you. lol I've hesitated to ride alone in the past because of the high water table in the Turtle Mountains, but when I did the multi mount winch set up definitely came in handy. Now with the confidence I have based on Honda Reputation, I'm sure I will find myself riding alone more frequently. Nice work on the build! Its one of a kind!

Thank you guys for the kind words. My machine may be considered a beast, but it got stopped dead in its tracks today. This little bitty mudhole in the trail looks harmless, it was not much longer than the pioneer.

Sorry if this has been either asked or stated already. Is that the Two piece hard coat windshield if so how is it holding up. Really wanting the ability to open it for air flow but I am torn between it and the real glass one for the durability. I know it's Apple to oranges.

I like it OK, but I don't think it's worth the price.

One thing to consider, the top piece is hardcoat and the bottom piece is not. In my opinion, Honda screwed us on this one. They should've called it a two-piece windshield and top piece hardcoated.

With that said, here are my observations:

1. When you get around 35-40 miles an hour and faster it will start vibrating violently if you have it open. Ask @ohanacreek.

2. It needs to open more than 4 inches in my opinion.

3. When closed, it does a good job of stopping pretty much all airflow coming through and hitting you.

4. It is very easily installed and removed for when you don't want it.

5. The hardcoat seems to be very scratch resistant. I use common sense and rinse off the windshield with water first and then I wipe it. Last weekend while riding, it got very muddy and I rinsed it with a bottle of water and then wiped it off with a towel and there are no scratches on it.

Super ATV now has a windshield that will open all the way up but it is still plastic.

I saw that one from super atv. Don't like it because it doesn't seem to wrap around the roll cage. Does it rattle to bad when close and driving.

It does rattle when closed, but that could be fixed with a gasket material along the rim. It only rattles when going over rough terrain at a fairly high speed.

If I am this deep into the pioneer, any other modifications I should make?

I have almost 500 miles now on the pioneer. I thought I would check the air filter after riding at royal blue. It doesn't look too bad.

While in here, I am also making sure everything is watertight, hose clamps are tight, checking all the ground wires, and changing the oil.

I was wondering to myself over the weekend how much that filter was. Fixing to check.

if you got that much tore apart how hard would it be to run some hoses in case you ever wanted a heater haha. Might be a good time to run any extra wires you might want for future stuff

Extra wires! I didn't think of that. I've got a switch for rock lights but have no rock lights installed.

Thank you!
