The passenger side is hot because the exhaust is on the passenger side. I would wrap it with header wrap if I thought it would last a while and not rust out.

Anyone have thoughts one the rust issue using the wrap? Can a guy paint the pipes first to prevent rust?
This is a link to a potential solution. I've heard it works but have never tried it myself.

Any thoughts on that?

Not sure of the source of the whine. The sound deadening didn't seem to help much. I guess you're right, it could be the alternator.

I haven't ridden long enough to see if it helped with heat.

We are gonna remedy that soon as you get some time off during the week lol. There's still a couple trails we haven't been on yet.

I don't think rust would be as big as an issue as u think do to moisture wont be there do to heat running through it!!

Rust wouldn't be a constant worry. I ran header wrap on my dragbike for years and it was never really a problem. Every winter when I freshened it up I'd remove wrap, sand off surface rust, and respray. It's caused by condensation from putting them through so many heat cycles. I plan to use it on mine whenever I can find time to install it.

I've heard a lot of people say that pipes will crack or rust but my old P700 has been wrapped a while now and had no issues.

I just did a quick google search for "header wrap rust" and found some nasty pics of broken and rusted out pipes.

I'm not sure what to think...

I'd be willing to bet those rusted pipes belonged to owners who installed it and forgot about it. A little preventative maintenance every once in a while and you'd be good

I may remove my pipes
If it's not too hard. I could powder coat them as I have on hand some high temp paint. That would probably help a lot.

If u are going to take them off then get them jet hot coated or ceramic or something of that nature!! what about taking the wrap off after a year and checking on it? paint area well with Hight temp paint like for a grill or header pipe paint then put wrap on that section u painted and check on it after a year. what I have done in the past was used header wrap and hose clamps on the ends to hold it from coming apart. I have also made aluminum heat shield in the past and heard that on with stainless hose clamps

RMATV will not let you search for OEM Honda SXS parts, I tried the part # 08U70-HL3-A40 Still had no luck, when you have time can you check your order email from them for the RMATV item number they use? Much appreciated.

Your build is coming along quite nicely, keep up the good work.

I didn't see an answer for this and was looking them up myself just now. Here's RMATV's part number - 1678290001

The diffs had a smaller nipple sticking out so I had to reduce the tube size like this

I think I've got some tubing left so I can check that in a little while.

No worries or hurry. I was just curious. I'm researching what I need to do this and found different ID's on the bellows. I'm don't have access to my machine right now so I can't look at it. I think the sub-trans is a 1/4" nipple and the diff's are 1/8", but I'm not sure. I assume you used the same bellows on all three.

I'm not really sure. I usually use Tygon fuel line so I'm not sure what this is.

I think it's engine vacuum hose

I will like to report back that after riding around, I cannot see any significant change in the noise level.

I will probably have to ride for a longer duration to be able to test the reduction of heat.

After today's riding with @Delton, we could tell a significant different in heat on the plastic shield between the seat bottom and seat back. Mine was barely warm and his was too hot to hold your hand on it. His daughter was complaining like my boy used to do. Now I've got the additional heat shield from Bayouownbeer installed this evening and I will try it out on the next ride.
