The back of the winch was not flush with the winch plate because it was just barely touching the welds that hold it to the large angle iron. This actually happened last night but took it off today to see what that "TINK" noise was. I'm so pissed. I just want to ride!

The corner of the winch was sitting on a weld when he tighten it down. The steel nut inside the casting pulled down and broke it.

Cut grass today and other chores around the house. Gotta leave the state for work so I need to get those things done. Will be gone until Tuesday with a chance of coming home Sunday and spending one night in my own bed.
But I did get a couple more things finished. Got the 4ga jumper cables wrapped and installed. It's all wired up and tested, only needs the winch mounted now.

Awesome news about the broken winch! I called Warn and told them what I did. They are replacing it for free! I even sent them an email stating it was my fault. They are sending a motor kit which includes the broken piece, motor, bearings and brushes
