We can get one going soon though. Ain't even tried our my tablet yet. And it's driving me crazy

I saw another entrance into Coalmont from Dunlap which is a lot closer for us guys driving from the south. I will probably try that next time.

And lastly, I’m going to be adding some suspension limit straps on all four corners. I know that there will probably be a lot of people see no use in this and make fun of me but after talking with @snuffnwhisky about some issues I was having it looks like I need to limit the suspension travel. It will just look funny to some people that I have limit straps on a rig that’s not considered a sport model.

I have the inner CVs come apart sometimes because I have too much droop and it is breaking the snaprings. Sometimes it pulls off the boot. Also the suspension droop is limited by the axle which is probably why I have two warped axles. The CATVOS Front arms have too much droop. And the rear arms I made my own lift which gave them too much droop.

So I’ve got some hardware and straps on the way. I’ll Update soon with those parts come in.

Limit straps don't look silly on these.

I thought I smelled something burning. Looks like the dynomat i’ll put under the rear floorboard has melted off!

I’m glad it was there. I’m going to make some kind of heat shield and then apply some more to the floorboard.

I am running a 4” bilge fan and I have my fuel mixture richened down to 13.2 which should be a little bit cooler. I’m sure the extra weight and 32 inch tires make this thing work a little bit harder.

These things make some serious heat for sure. I think my leaking CV on passenger side is heat related. They could benefit from some tin work like old air-cooled vws used.

Well crap! Looks like another pinion seal is leaking....

3fa333cd6347286127208d892332e96f

The original differential leaked because of the bellows I used instead of extending the vent tube. This new differential is now leaking and it doesn’t have a bellow for the vent. Not sure what’s up with that but I’ll pull it out soon and find out. Got another seal on the way. This differential was purchased used on eBay so I’m not sure what’s up. It could have been in a fire or have 10k miles on it. Or I could have had 1 mile. Not sure but it will be fixed before the weekend is over.

Previous owner could've used bellows too. Hell who knows

Ok, here’s my first attempt at the heat shield. I made it so it stops any radiant heat from the header where there is no oem heat shield. It also goes over the oem heat shield that covers the down pipe so it’s double layered now with heat shield. I also made it an “air duct” style so it works in conjunction with the 4” bilge fan. Now the fan blows the header heat down and out versus just all over. In theory this should work great but I’ll try it out soon and see how hot the floor gets.

This is the first piece that channels the bilge fan air down.

Now shown with the second piece to shield radiant heat and continue the duct.

It fits under the floor nicely and doesn’t make a rattle sound yet. I used aluminum sheeting and rivets. Maybe it will last?

Last time I pulled the diff out which required pulling both rear axles, rear knuckles, rear brakes, shocks, etc. this time I’m going to attempt to change it in place. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ve got enough metal to make three sets if any of you goobers are interested.

I also have redneck CAD (cardboard aided design) I can mail out to anyone.

The cardboard is also marked with lines where it should bend. You can literally take this card board and cut out the metal in just a few minutes.
