Back in one piece...1600 miles...lots of smoke but no fire. We skipped Crater Lake due to smoke...who want's a picture of a brown lake. Temps were in the 90's and traffic on US 101 was awful in places...like where everyone wanted to be...most places. Smoke in South and central ID was not too bad but panhandle was pretty heavy on Snake and Clearwater river drainages...Salmon was pretty clear. I think the motel owners were making up for the summer of 2020...prices were high but they need to eat too.

Not a bad trip all in all.

Looks like today may be the first day without afternoon showers, according to the forecast. It was 52* this morning at 6:00 and should go to 80* with all clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine ☀️

Today just like previous days, started out at 52* will get to 78* before afternoon scattered showers cool things down for the evening….😎
Same here...58 to 92 but no afternoon showers. We're at 2400' and the mountain10 miles away is 5500' nice and cool up there but no afternoon or other showers...just 15% atmospheric moisture saturation. Big lake is 66F on the surface so kinda cool to get much moisture gain there. Same issues in BC, AB, WA, OR, MT, CA and others and their fires. Nothing to do with climate change... I'll stop whining about the heat if we can get some of those afternoon showers!!
