Hey all, I’m getting my dual battery setup parts ordered and on their way but had a few questions about light bars. What brand do you guys use and have you had good luck with it? What’s the toughest that gives you the best bang for your buck? I’ve had a few nilight bars and they seemed to do fine but now that I’m building the 700-4 and plan on having it for a long time I wonder if I should spend a little extra $$. Thanks for all the input.

I just wanted a small light up front because the headlights (converted to LED) still needed some help with punch for distance. I went with a 6” Rigid mounted between the two bars on the front bumper. I was originally put back by the silly price, but after reading multiple positive reviews about the quality and warranty I got the kit. The light output for a 6” was WAY more than I expected and so far the light is working without any issues after many deep swims ... no discoloration of lens, no fog at all and no dimming.

On the back of vehicle, I mounted some cheap LED floods from tractor supply company just so I don’t back in to a tree at night .... again. I mounted them high and reasonably protected, but I’m a realist, sooner later they will get hit with a branch or something and get busted or knocked off (at $20 each I won’t be upset).

Hope that helps.

I would say:

Amazon special if you’re in a budget crunch. They work and are cheap to replace if they fail. Large and low output for size, I’ve had several “300” watt light bars that only drew maybe 100-120watts.

Rough Country if you’re an average joe, they are EXPONENTIALLY better than any Amazon special. I have a 20” single row and a pair of X5 cubes. 75% smaller for the light output vs a amazon special.
I had a 42” Dual row Amazon and the RC is far better.

MTN Lightbars if you have money to burn, they are 2-3 time brighter than an equally sized Rigid.

Thanks for the info, I guess I should have clarified in my initial post. I am interested in what brands everyone is using but also is the extra money worth it. Sounds like the rough country will fit the bill.

I have the Auxbeam brand. From my research they were a good bang for the buck. They are rated correctly. 120-watts is right on and maybe a tad over. You have to get creative when you start figuring out where to mount everything. Honda must have forgot to put that in the plan...

I’ve heard good things about auxbeam. I had a nilight on my last rig and for the money it was pretty great.

Many people I ride with have auxbeam and like them and have had no issues I’m aware of.

Here’s the mounting I used and another of the output.

Bought mine off ebay for $65 for 24". After 600 miles through some rough country still going strong and plenty of light.

Black Oak LED makes some high quality bars, for less $ than a comparable Rigid. I have one a 30" single row stealth mounted in the front bumper of my Tundra and couldn't be happier

For my Pioneer, i'm going with lights + pods from Arsenal Offroad. IP68 lights and good light output for a great price

Sorry for the delay, it’s a 6” rigid single row driving pattern. I’ll find a photo.

(Photo taken in alley, sorry)

For reference, the trailer is about 40ft away.

First pic is headlights (LED upgrade) only. Second pic is headlights and 6” light on. 906613 is the rigid light number.

There is a small hill where the light stops, it does go further on flat terrain. But shown is what I consider “useful” lighting. Once the light goes way out it doesn’t really help for driving that much. People 2-3 ahead of me thank me for adding light for them at night LOL.

Thank you, that little guy throws some light but it better at $280. I just ordered a Rough Country 8in for the front of my Nissan Titan single row for $79.99 license plate mount hopefully it's half as bright as that bar.

This is a great example of the focus and directed light output of the higher dollar bars. At 6” this is a lot of light! Now imagine how much light those 40-50” rigid bars throw. It’s crazy I can tell you!

LED and reflector quality along with correct alignment are KEY to a good beam.
People need look at the alignment of the LEDs in a Amazon special, they will be underwhelmed.
