I had to extend the bed on the trailer 2" on each side by adding gussets and channel iron but the 2" on each side are not noticeable. If you look closely it looks like it came from the factory. I like have the P5 on the deck on the front as I am not a big fan of putting dirty muddy toys in my living area. The picture with the long flat mountain in the background is Grand Mesa, the world's largest flattop mountain. The snow capped mountains are the La Sals in Eastern Utah.Wow!!! First, I love the trailer arrangement. The P5 is just shy of ten feet, no problems with it sticking out past the trailer though huh? The scenery is fantastic. My buddy (rides the Yellow Jacket) use to go hunt the same place regularly, I'll be forwarding your post to him. Btw, your ride looks really good too! Oh, finally got my hands on the box, everything looks good, though I haven't got them installed yet.

My toy hauler has an actual seperate garage and door from the living quarters to it. The floor and 6-8" up the wall are covered in a 1/4" rubber that looks like diamond plate, so it's easily washed out with a hose. Didn't know that about Grand Mesa, very interesting. So you actually added to the front of your camper trailer, and did the work yourself? Again, very nice accomodations.I had to extend the bed on the trailer 2" on each side by adding gussets and channel iron but the 2" on each side are not noticeable. Not sure what the tongue weight is but it just barely lowers the back of the truck and I do use a load distribution hitch. My pickup is a F-150 7700 instead of 7500 like most 150's with the 6.2 liter V-8, the same motor that is in the Ford Raptor and its a beast. I think the F-150 Eco-Boost with the tow package would pull it also. Fully loaded trailer is right at 9600 pounds.Awesome trailer setup. How much tongue weight you think you have and what is your tow vehicle?
No, the only work I did was make the deck wider. The deck as you see it comes like that from the factory just 4" narrower and will haul 2 Off Road Vehicles. My toy hauler has an actual seperate garage and door from the living quarters to it. Raptor, 27' aluminum frame with a ten foot actual garage, seperate from the living quarters. 6,800 lb. 8,500 with P5 and gear. My Z-71 1500 pulled it ok, but not so well on lengthy trips like to Talladega or my New Mexico property so I traded it in on an HD 2500. Much better, but next time ill get the duramax. If you're doing the shorter haul thing, my opinion is that your truck will do well, but I'd definitely use the load leveller/sway control mount and crank up the trailer breaks. IMO of course.Love that trailer set up. I've been thinking that hauling the travel trailer with the
P5 in the bed of the truck might be hard on the 1/2 ton Sierra. Actually looked at
some toy haulers online over the weekend. Don't really want a huge one though.
24' Winnebago Spyder in black caught my eye.
Easy on that clutch ehart. Actually, I want to see a picture of that cool old house. Looks like a historic federal style from what little I can see of it.
I was surprised how easy it pulled... I let off the gas between shifts longer, so the clutch wouldn't slip during shifting. I could easily drive down the road at 30 mph. Slowing down is when you need to be careful. You need a little extra road to stop. I just let off the gas way early to let it slow itself down. I'm sure it was a lot of weight, but it definitely did not feel like I was abusing it. I just hauled that mower about 4 miles down the road. Only one hill... I just shifted up to third and climbed slow. One of the advantages of being geared like a tractor - it pulls like a tractor!Easy on that clutch ehart. Just gratuitous killing. Please excuse my ignorance but I have to ask. Earlier in this post I see where people are shooting prairie dogs, is this a cull hunt or do people eat these.
Thanks.
Your right, I was thinking of it after the modifications and the way it barely fits in the ten foot garage of my toy hauler. The p5 Is just over 8 feet
