Yes, Shumway is smack in between Show Low and Snowflake, on HWY 77. I live in Taylor, which neighbors Snowflake to the south. Have you been through this area before?

Cool, I’ve been through there on a trip to Prescott and Flagstaff.

We live and ride on the southern and central part of the Ozark National Forest. Big Piney Ranger District. Quite a few trails some quite challenging that we do not ride. To old for that. What I like about this area are all the old home sites that you can still find great scenery and nice views. Waterfalls bluffs and clear creeks. You might can tell I like the Ozarks.
Hunting turkeys is addictive. Right now our turkeys are very low in numbers so don't come here.

Haha, don’t come for the turkeys. But I would for the country. And I hear ya on the getting too old for that. Lol. Too much snow to ride in Cape Breton. Half way through February.

That’s a very nice part of Arkansas. Sounds like you primarily ride the forest service roads and trails not the commercial trail systems in that area lke Mack’s Pines, Byrd’s, Mulberry, etc. Not good news about the turkey population, but no worries, I’m just an observer myself and I feed them at my ranch!!!

I go Grouse hunting at the camp, I go to my friends ranch in Alberta for whitetail but don’t put a bullet in the gun, usually. Haha. Just great to get out and walk around in the fall. I’ve had huge bucks around 15 feet from me, just looking at each other. Anybody but me, they would have been dead. Getting soft. Haha

See, I do the same thing, I love the deer woods/deer camp and go regularly and sleep in and have breakfast ready when all those boneheads come back cold and hungry.

We call that a camp b****. Haha. Nothing better. Don’t have to get cold, just listen to stories. Up here, hunting, I grew up on Biood pudding. Walk all day with a breakfast of Blood pudding. Still love it. It’s hard to find now. The Co-Op has it once and a while in Cape Breton. The older people buy it up because it’s all protein. Don’t know if you’ve ever heartof it. Yum. Haha
