This is correct. I know Ford didn't build the motor. From what i've been told all of the 6.0 motors with problems came from the same plant. If it lasted past 100k it was fine if not you got a junk one..... I was also told that the 6.7 was the first ford built motor since the 7.3. They have had the 6.7 in the works for quite a while. I think it will eventually have the following and recognition of the 7.3.
I believe the Duramax has been built by Isuzu for a while?...

To be clear, the 7.3 and the 6.0 engines were both International / Navistar engines.
I guess technically, the 6.0 is a hybrid Navistar / Ford engine. Ford did not use the Navistar ECU and programmed the ECU for the F series trucks themselves. It was alleged that the programming that Ford used - specifically the pre-injection pulse which created the quiet running engine caused issues.
Ford and Navistar spent a lot of money in court in lawsuits and counter suits over this issue.
