What's the towing capacity on the ecodiesel?

I don't know about the ecodiesel but...

My 2016 3.5 ecoboost F-150 is rated for 11,500 lbs. But going over 10k would make me worry a bit with a 1/2 ton truck with 145 inch wheelbase. It pulls effortlessly. And i get about 13 mpg pulling my pioneer.

I got a buddy pulling an 11k 5th wheel with an eco boost. Does fine, it’s a crew cab itty bitty bed.

Actually the 6.0 Powerstroke was not a Ford engine but a Navistar International engine which is why Ford built the 6.7 as a true Ford Diesel, too many problems that International was not fixing.

This is correct. I know Ford didn't build the motor. From what i've been told all of the 6.0 motors with problems came from the same plant. If it lasted past 100k it was fine if not you got a junk one..... I was also told that the 6.7 was the first ford built motor since the 7.3. They have had the 6.7 in the works for quite a while. I think it will eventually have the following and recognition of the 7.3.

I believe the Duramax has been built by Isuzu for a while?...

As always I could be wrong....

To be clear, the 7.3 and the 6.0 engines were both International / Navistar engines.

I guess technically, the 6.0 is a hybrid Navistar / Ford engine. Ford did not use the Navistar ECU and programmed the ECU for the F series trucks themselves. It was alleged that the programming that Ford used - specifically the pre-injection pulse which created the quiet running engine caused issues.

Ford and Navistar spent a lot of money in court in lawsuits and counter suits over this issue.

Holy Crap! I know those ecoboost have a lot of power but thats a lot of weight to be pulling in that little truck.

The max tow package has the rating to pull it not sure about carrying it though. Depend on the 5th wheel.

The EB is a heck of an engine. Dont trust gasser turbos though so we got a 150k bumper to bumper extended warranty on wife’s explorer.

Or wind, or a blowout and trying to control it from there... lots of factors. I’m sure moparornocar has more seat time towing than 95% of us on this forum.

You would be correct lol. That F150 has far better brakes than my F350 dually. You barely know that trucks back there. Trailer brakes are a good thing. I wouldn’t choose that truck to tow a 5er with butnive had seat time in it, and it feels surprisingly stable. It has air ride in the back and with the tires aired up to max pressure it does pretty well in the wind. Those tiny turbos sound neat going up a hill.
