Drove to Abernathy's from Phoenix. Cost $460 in gas and $250 in hotels and food. Out the door on a 2020 Talon 1000R for $17,864. Best OTD price I could find in Phoenix was $19,890 on a 2019 model. I'd do it all over again. Gets me that much closer to the turbo I am craving.
Tax too?! If so....
I have no idea on what is a good price local to you, but down South, that dealer would go out of business ..... lolHi, I just joined the forum to get an idea what prices people are getting on 2020 1000X models. This will be my first sxs. I have my choices narrowed down to a Talon or a YXZ. Haven't went to the Yamaha dealer yet, but just got back from the Honda dealer. Their quote was MSRP minus the 1000 Honda rebate and they ate the cost of shipping. They also said the labor to install any option would be free. I'm not sure that's a huge selling point for me because I'm a gearhead and I like doing that stuff myself. They wouldn't budge on price. Just wondering whether that's an ok deal or not? Seems a little high, but maybe I need to wait until 2021 models are out before I can get a better deal on a 2020?

It amazes me that more folks will not make such a trip to save thousands.Tax too?! If so....

Ask them if financing will get you a better deal. If it does then finance it then pay it off with the first payment like I did. Saved me like $900 ($1,000 incentive minus 1 month of interest i ended up paying). Just don't tell them that is what you plan on doing. Don't ask, don't tell .Well, decided to get another quote. This time on a 2019 R. I thought dealers gave deals to get rid of old models, and considering 2021s are almost out, a 2019 is pretty old. But... 18739 before tax, title, doc. Maybe it's high because of kickbacks they get for people who finance? I'm paying cash.
My friend just bought one in New Mexico last month and paid 23.9KWith the shortage of inventory due to COVID, I would be interested if those same dealers are still giving out deals like that?
