Really?? How’s it getting water in it?

Don’t know how. I do know that the white one hasn’t been in half as much water as the red one and the red pioneer has two warn winches, so double the opportunity.

I haven’t been impressed because of the noise and seal issues. Maybe I got a bad one? Idk. The terra45 seems to be strong and definitely uses less amps to power it, I tested that for myself with a DC clamp meter.

Dunno.. less draw isn’t exactly a good thing. We’ll compare noise next ride. Did you test yours under load with the amp clamp? I’ll try that. You’ve got me curious now..

Both my warns (PV4500 & Honda 4000) pull over 300 amps at stall. The terra 45 pulled just under 200 like advertised. I couldn’t believe it. Not sure what the difference is. Maybe they have a better motor? Different gearing? I never looked that deep.

Viper 4500 pulls around 290 when it stalls out, long enough pulls and it will heat up the breaker and trip it.

I have a Badlands 5000 on my P1000 and it has been flawless so far! I have a buddie who killed a warn and replaced it with a Badlands 3500 on a 900 crew cab rzr.

I put a Badlands winch in my enclosed trailer and on a flatbed trailer. They don’t get used much but always work good when I go to use them.

On flat ground yes but remember, 3x3x3 of wet dirt weights about 3000-4000 lbs so if it’s holding on, a dbl line on a 4500 might not be enough. I was stuck so bad I had my viper 4500 Dbl lined and I was dragging a 1500 Crew and an Explorer Sport. Granted that was on wet dirt but I had to get a mini-ex to get me out.

Great point to consider as well. I underestimated the weight of a pioneer in my previous comment. I thought it was closer to 1000lbs. Needless to say I’m surprised that’s actually closer to 1600 lbs!

With that said I’d still stay with a 4-5K winch for fear of bending the pioneer frame.

I used my warn vantage 4000 to lift my p1k3 straight up by a tree branch when I would wash it. I've winched several times in tough spots without issue. I guess I never felt like I was lacking winch power...i think you'll be fine.

That's what I wanted to hear. If the winch will lift your sxs it's probably going to serve you well on the trail.

just swap rope and fairlead to a smooth one that hasnt had wire rope run across it(burrs will tear the synth up) and no rollers they will pinch the synth rope.

You can get both on amazon for about $50

What Ohana said. Also look for any burrs or scratches on the spool especially the sides. All that needs to be smooth.
It’s cheaper usually to buy a winch with cable an convert it.

I just changed out my ropes after being on the machine for almost a couple years just in case one breaks and I’m in a bad situation. I don’t mind if it breaks and I’m stuck in a mudhole but I don’t want one failing while pulling up a rock face.

I’ve used those Amazon 1/4” ropes and they’ve been great. They’re $24.

I put the used ones on my utility trailers.

I ended up getting this one to match. I’m sure they are over priced but I saved plenty on the ropes. They seem durable even though @CumminsPusher broke one.

Good rule of “thumb” never have your fingers near that area while someone else is on the button especially my wife after a couple beers:)
