Update on the Lifetime 28qt I bought a while back. Still works great for me, and as everyone has said, volume and how often you open effects any cooler. My only complaint so far is the damned thing seals so tight sometimes I have to find something to pry it open with. If you hit both latches at the same time and listen, you can hear air hissing out around the lid. Makes a great seal, but also creates a vacuum. Still pretty happy with the return on a 78 buck investment though.

Sounds like it’s doing great and that’s all that matters. I have Yeti’s and they do pretty good but I’m not one of those pig headed fan boys that thinks they are the greatest cooler in the world, there are plenty of coolers out there that do a better job! Keep us updated on how well your lifetime cooler does over time.

My new Cold Bastard cooler has a air release button on front for easy opening which I like very much.

For those looking for a cooler, this is the best deal I’ve found anywhere. My brother is a member at BJ’s (like Costco or sams club). I think they are still on sale there til next weekend. Same size as a yeti 45, but only 20something lbs so not too much for me to carry by myself fully loaded. Trade off is that it is more like a 4 day cooler in the “real world” as opposed to 8 or 10 from the ultra-premium brands, but that is all I need anyway.

Anyone have the pelican 30qt? I have a Rtic 45 but that is a little big for me to take on a day ride. Would like something slightly bigger than a 20qt

Last minute headed to the Magruder Corridor ride we decided we needed another cooler, small town and no option to get a Yeti or similar, so grabbed an Ozark trail, same size as my $200.00 Yeti for $75.00

It kept ice one day longer than the Yeti, couldn’t believe it. The only down side was that it doesn’t have a drain plug, so it can’t be used (easily) for food, just drinks.

I found the Ozark Trail cooler to be just as good as others at twice the cost. Works for me.

Yep, I’m going to see if a larger one has a drain plug though.

I mounted one on rear of golf cart and added a drain plug since it wasn’t the easiest to remove. Can’t get plug low enough to remove all water but it only holds 1/4-3/8” of water and is easy enough to remove with paper towels at that point.

At least you guys were lucky with the Ozark, I told my brother-in-law to buy one since they were cheaper and he absolutely hates his and wishes he’d bought a Pelican or Yeti. We always use my Yeti’s when we go trout fishing and he says they are better. I’m starting to think it’s a crap shoot on whatever you buy.

I was hating having to buy that Ozark, but mine performed better than my Yeti. Just wish it had a drain plug.

I have Ozark, Yeti, Rtic, Pelican and my newest one is Cold Bastard. They all perform very close to the same given the same circumstances so I get the brand that has the size that fits my needs

I'm sure a drain can be added!
Just checked and the next size up from the one I bought (52 guart) does have a drain plug and I’m going after it. $123.00

Cool! If it does, Ozark will have replacement parts in store so others can buy the drain and make it work on theirs. I will be searching tomorrow.

I added one for $10, much nicer now I can leave it attached with the turnbuckles.

$16 I guess they went up, and I scuffed the surface on the inside filled the gap around the drain through the cooler with as much silicon as would fit then used marine epoxy putty to build a seal and shape the inside.
