I was hooking my KFI winch remote and they included a blue crimp connector to tap into the keyed power I am apposed to using them!
So it got me to thinking I should post some tips that I use.
1 when buying wire buy corrosion resistant marine grade wire
2 use the bare but connectors then slide quality heat shrink over them.
3 if you don't want to go to the bother of using of the bare but connectors at least use the one with heat shrink made on them (but be careful that your don't poke through the heat shrink when crimping them)
I prefer soldering new wire myself.
I use the Standard brand but connectors 16-14 gauge parts number SST91
14-16 gauge heat shrinks parts number is HST28
12-14 gauge parts number is HST30
The wire that I currently have is Deka Marine Master
I get them through my local auto parts store.
Happy trails
