I live in Alaska. My machine (2015 700 P2) is mostly for work n hunting. Up here we have some decent mud, muskeg, and some pretty steep rocky hills. At times Ill have a decent amount of weight in the bed like hunting gear, and an actual dead animal....moose quarters or caribou. So my stock tires need an upgrade and I was wanting to go with a 27" tire forva wee bit more ground clearance. Ive read however that a 27" tire on our rigs can flat out kill its power. LAST thing I need is my machine sitting halfway up a steep rocky hill just revving the motor and not spinning as im fully loaded. Whats everyones experience going to a bigger tire? Honesty please as I dont wanna regret buying a bigger tire.

I just installed 27's on my 700-4, I have not loaded it to the max and tested yet. So far I have not noticed any low end power reduction. I actually think the thing runs better, notice smother shifts, smother ride ,more stable feel at higher speeds and MUCH easier steering. I'm thinking now that maybe the power steering modification can be moved down on my to do list.

I was concerned about the same thing so i made a small jump up to 26's. I really don't notice a difference in power

I was worried about the same thing so I didn't go to 28's and instead went to 27's with skinnies on front ....ended up buying a set of 28's an 10" wide on all 4 corners

thats good to hear. I REALLY want a little bigger tire. I guess worst case scenario is that I buy a unifilter and big gun aftermarket pipe to gain back what the 27's rob

@SpencerAK I live Kodiak and run 28s on my 700-4 I think you will be fine with 27s. I have only heard one person here complaint of the power at the top of the mountain But I think as long as you use the petal to keep it in 1st gear you should be able to climb a tree with 27s!

Like the others have stated you should be fine with 27" Tires. It is only 10% larger than OEM.

im looking at putting 28s just like urs but in florida the mud is so thick and needs the torque carrying four people. it struggles with the 25s at times. is there a set up out there that can help me out? and would I need wheel spacers or the three inch lif?

stock 25s. its the suction that makes it stuggle the most. once u break suction it will spin. and an extra 500lbs of big boys in the back dosnt help ground clearance at all. ill try some 28s mega mayhems and just never stop in the mud lol. well I dropped my 700-4 off at the shop to fix my broke front left axle, it ripped all of the splines off in the hub. it was a little odd that with the wheel turned left I could pull the axle out of the hub very easily.... hopefully I get it back in two weeks for the next trip

you don't have to go all the way to 28's but changing out from the stock tires are like a night and day Difference!

Good comment @bobbyhill. I've got 25" tires on my 2003 foreman 450. They are ok for that small vehicle. They are not good for a 1000lb+ 60" wide SXS.

X2 I went to 26" as the OEM measured actually 23" not the 24" marked on the sidewall. Handles great no rubbing anywhere.

Not due to the width the 28's were too tall with the 2" lift I had you need a 3" or better.
