Have a 91 4Runner that's going to get a makeover. It's been sitting with a blown head gasket for a couple of years. Want it to be driveable on the street without to much drama and be able to tow the pioneer.

Ordered:
17" x 8" Steel Wheels
Weld on Beadlock kit
37" Super Swamper SX2's
95' grill and headlights
Clear corners and tail lights

Plans:
Later model Superduty axles - Dana 60 F, 10.5" Sterling Rear
5.3 LS Motor, 4l60, 241 Tcase
Going to do a lot of fender/wheelwell work to keep it low
Want to chop the rear top and move it to behind the rear seat and make it a truck bed behind it.
Unsure if I'm going to do leaf springs or coilovers. Leaning toward leafs for durability.
Custom tube/cage work throughout.

Hope to have it driveable by the end of the year.

Subscribed! Suggest you head over to IH8MUD as well. You should get some good ideas / support over there.

On edit, look for user Fort Knox, I am a member of a local club with him and he has a well setup runner

Ill dig up some of my old links for some of the sites i used.
Do you need the v8? I used 4.3 and it was a hell of a rock crawler!

That's what I did to my old Nissan. This was a Pathfinder. Cut at front pillars and across the seats. Shortend box 16 inches and added king cab. tried to make it look factory. Coils sure rode nice had to tilt them in to clear the bed that truck was on rails for a 4x4

I did a 4.3 swap in an old yota I used to have but 400-500 hp sounds more fun! Will probably cut out the core support and firewall/tunnel to move the motor back some and get a larger radiator. Was pretty tight with the 4.3. The LS motors are pretty compact.

Getting the motor pulled. Drained a gallon of perfect antifreeze out of the oil pan before oil came out...

I would make a "Toyota and their head problems" but.......well......you know.......sensitive people might get offended. And Lord knows I don't need that on my conscience. Looking forward to this build.

Well crap, I was hoping to be a part of that job. Or at least keeping the beer circulating while you worked.

I'll pass through some day and maybe in time to help put another one back in.

I've got plenty of projects... Lol. Looks like I'm having some back work done next week so I'll probably need some help!
