Batteries are both brand new. I may try the injector trick. I was wondering if sea foam would work. I love it in my gas motors. I'll give the ATF a try and see how that goes. As soon as I figure out where the fuel bowl is!I've heard of using ATF in the filter bowl. ATF has detergents.
I drained the filter bowl on mine and filled it with "Sea Foam". This was recommended by the only guy I've met with the ford logo tatoo'd on his chest. It worked.
Also, The injectors will struggle if the voltage drops below 12 volts. Make sure you have good batteries.
Tell me...you had aMopar is my favorite. In all fairness, I've owned 114 cars since my 16 the birthday. Just about every make except Mercedes, jaguar and the Italians.
Top dead center of motor. think of where the carb. would be on gas motor. There is a leaver to drain it also next to it. It has a water separator system on it I think. That is what the leaver does I believe. I owned two of these trucks back in the day. 1995 and 1997 models.Batteries are both brand new. I may try the injector trick. Mine is an auto. If the e40d in it now s***s the bed I'll be putting a manual trans in it.I don't want to try to tell you how to do your build, but my only suggestion for that particular model year truck is a full tranny build. I had a friend that had one and towed a lot and the only issues that ever arose were in the transmission. My friends truck was an automatic though, what's yours Mopar? Sorry if you already said I must have missed it.
Probably the smart thing to do. A properly built auto will run anywhere from $3-5000. I'm sure you could swap in a manual for less than that. Plus a manual is cooler!Mine is an auto. If the e40d in it now s***s the bed I'll be putting a manual trans in it.
Agreed! I could buy an entire 5 speed donor truck for a grand or so. Couple hundred bucks for a clutch and youre off to the races.Probably the smart thing to do. A properly built auto will run anywhere from $3-5000. I'm sure you could swap in a manual for less than that. Plus a manual is cooler!
I'd do it but by the time I got there you'd be done with the entire build!Diagnosis is a broken rocker arm and the trans is shot. She's at the diesel shop now getting the motor all hunky dory then home to pull the trans. Found a shop that will rebuild it for 1500 bucks with a new converter and all new guts. I'll be posting pics of that clusterfk. Anybody wanna come help pull a trans?!
I appreciate the offer buddy! LolI'd do it but by the time I got there you'd be done with the entire build!
