Shouldn't be too hard.
If you need wiring help, tell me your model year and the system you'd like to install. I should be able to help you.

I'd consider buying a cab for my 700 if it had remote start.

I wouldn’t think it would be to hard— there are a lot of folks that have explained nearly every wire in the machine— people have a good brand?

Depends on what you want. I believe Viper was top of the line for a long time. But I have been out of that game a long time.
Do you want simple 1/8 or 1/4 mile range? Need remote feedback with alarm etc?

My biggest concern would be sealing your wire connections to keep the elements out. Much easier in a vehicle where all connections are done under dash where weather/mud/water is not a concern.

I would just want one way 100 yards or so. Nothing too fancy just need to warm up from ice shack or inside the house

I couldn't find a wiring diagram for the remote start, if you come across one, I'll tell you where to hook em up.

any of the dei brands are good, viper is one, like ten I think, I would solder and heat shrink every connection. only input I would question is the tach signal for reading when the engine starts to shut it off. some only work with certain cyl like they have jumper settings for 4 6 or 8 cyl, but some of the better ones will have auto read function that may work better

I think the viper monitored battery voltage to verify it was running. I don't recall 100% though.

Do they commonly list the cyl options in specs on the auto start products? Trouble is, I can't get any real details on this thing until I order... says the bible of reviews on amazon

I've installed some of the Ready remotes (now DEI) on about 4 different vehicles and they seem to work very well. I was just looking but they seem to have changed there website so you can't look at vehicle specific wiring diagrams without a bar code of the product. The ones I've installed don't work off a tach signal, but rather run the starter for a few seconds then check voltage. They are pretty straight forward and I believe for the pioneer, they would be pretty easy to install. Unlocking doors and tooting the horn might be a little tricky though.
