just wonted to give yall a update. I am still waiting on my rods to come in they have been on back order. I will try to take a bunch of pictures as I start putting it back together.
Drop the skid plate and you will be able to drop oil pan and shine a light and see how bad your rod is. Then turn engine over so that your counter weight rolls down to the bottom mine had 2 little shiny spots where the piston was hitting it but not bad enough to feel.Thank you for the pics and advise. I have the exact same issue as yours and was hoping to get the oil pan off in the chassis.
Glad you got it back together. Are there any aftermarket cams for these engines? How do the ports look on the heads?
No problem sorry it took so long I was out of town for a week and got sick and was out a couple days but if there is anything else I can help you with give me a call 813-478-6044Thanks for the specs. I really do appreciate the help.
Did you get get it fixed?Ok guys I am new to the forum hope this is in the right spot. I have a p1k that has taken in water going though a shallow puddle if water at a high speed. So I drained the oil pulled plugs and started it up and had a knock so I took it in to Honda they didn't even touch it and said that Honda would not cover it and that it would be $7,000 to $10,000 to fix. So obviously I wasn't paying that so I took it home and started to pull it apart I found that the 1 rod is bent and the piston is just barley hitting the counter weight on the crank. I am going to replace both rods both pistons rings and head bolts and out it back together.

Saw a guy not long ago that swamped his. Ran it without checking the rod after changing fluids and the rod broke and went through the block. So $150 fix turned into over $1000.Think I'm having the same exact issue
I will be tearing mine down this weekSaw a guy not long ago that swamped his. Ran it without checking the rod after changing fluids and the rod broke and went through the block. So $150 fix turned into over $1000.
The oil pan comes off pretty easy to check.I will be tearing mine down this week
Buddy of mine has a cbr1100 Blackbird that spit a Falicon rod out at Huntsville. We never did find it. Somewhere in the weeds alongside return road is my guess. Probably still there lmaoSaw a guy not long ago that swamped his. Ran it without checking the rod after changing fluids and the rod broke and went through the block.
