Slightly back on topic of this grossly jacked thread. I've been working out some sketches of this tiny atv camper. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited. Plus HF gas the 4x8 trailers on sale for 259 through the end of the year.
I looked at them and they do look cool for the money. Do you know what the top speed is on that axel and wheels? Btw, didn't mean to jack anything, just boys having fun, and maybe planning a cool trip!!

I don't know if I would trust any thing from hf to go 700 miles. Even if you are dragging it behind a honda

I've seen plenty that are years old with thousands of miles on them, it's all in how you maintain your equipment. I'm not concerned with the trailer holding up. It's a metal square with wheels. The tires are 13 inch I believe. Should be rated for highway speeds

12" is what I've seen looking at HF. Still can't find anything on the top speed for them??

BUUUTT!! He said he had two chevy trucks. Those things have bow ties on the front. Surely a mans truck needs to be a work truck and not be the gentlemen's truck.

Sorry monte. I just couldn't help myself.
Don't do it, Joey. Lol
(We'll be missing 2 pages of this thread in no time. I've seen it happen. )

My apologies for the typo. I meant 12. I'm not going to run the stock wheels and tires regardless. I plan in a set of 14's. Easier to find should a replacement be needed
Yeah that's a great idea. Hubs and bearings though, have you been able to find anything on the max speed?

I believe they are only 45. But if larger wheels were added and not near maximum weight which I can't imagine it'll be at the bearings should hold up to the trip just fine.

Yeah that's probably right. I'd pack a set of bearings and grease, cheap insurance.

Oh there's nothing cool about a Prius, that's not the point of the cars.
We'll it depends on who you are, some people are OK with the thing being only an a-b. Others by vehicles that they like to be in, like clothes. All the power to them either way.

I wouldn't be caught in a Prius though, that just aint right. (wheres the pot stirring emoji) j/k

Alright I'll admit it, I'm recovering from driving a Nissan Cube for a while. The 34mpg and my 72 mile round trip drive to work together with my cheapness got me into one for a bit. (2 years, 46,562 miles to be about exact). But coming from a truck, I had to get back into one.

I hear ya. Myself, I only cared about what my ride was or looked like when I was a youngster. Now it's all practicality. The cars quiet, gets awesome gas mileage and you can put space shuttle miles on them. It's Toyota after all. I don't care about the rest. I also own a couple Z-71's for practical reasons also. IMO, if you're just giving yourself a ride to work, a gas guzzling truck is frivolous, but if you need to pick up a load of lumber, it's indispensable.

45-55 depending on the model. Limited by tire recommendations. An upgrade tire package and if you chose, some different t bearings, I'm sure 80 mph all day long won't hurt a metal rectangle any. Either way, it's more than adequate for the job I'll be doing with it.

I hear the gas mileage theme... i wanted something that got good mileage so I got a diesel. I get 22mpg in my gmc 4x4 dually. My wife get 32-36 in her awd BMW X5 diesel. My brother was here this weekend and was getting 59.8 in a VW sedan with a diesel... all are way cooler than a Prius.

All in good fun... then.

Why are Prius owners such bad drivers?

Because it's hard to drive while patting yourself on the back at the same time.
I don't know about that, we own one for the 53 mpg. ;)

Found a guy on a forum that claims to have pulled one 1,400 miles at 65 over loaded a bit. Had a welder in one corner that bent the rectangle a bit but no issues with the wheels/bearings. Sounds good to go.
