Radiator. I went to Napa with the diameter I needed and they had the ability to look up radiator hoses by inlet and outlet diameter. At that point I just chose a shape that I thought would work and ordered it. I got lucky and when I picked it up knew it was perfect.

What filter did you use and how is the filter attached?

I just took the stock rough particulate filter and stuffed it into the end of the hose. It's stout enough that it stays right in place. The end of the spring inside the hose holds it from being sucked in a little too. If you haven't had yours apart yet it's the little white square thing in my pic.

I've dove into a creek (literally) from the bank and nail the rev limiter in 6th with ease (what airflow restriction?) Back to stock in few minutes without buying a single part. And best of all, no sign of water intrusion in airbox whatsoever. Still very happy with decision to install behind the seat type. Only downside was the price but not bad compared to the HL. And I'd like to see someone snag mine on a low lying limb lol.
How is the noise with your behind the seat snorkle?

Through the hood snorkel.. apparently 3" PVC isn't 3" OD.

Did you use 3" hole saw or 3 1/4?

How tall and what pipe? AEM 36" off amazon? was hoping to be cheap with pvc

What inside diameter hose do I need to fit the intake hole? I don't have my pioneer here to measure right now.

Has anyone toyed around with redo the tubing around the motor area? Looks just be some flex boots and stuff. It seems most try to reroute from under the hood, instead of tapping into the pipe that runs from the hood. I haven't really checked the feasibility of this myself. I noticed it yesterday when ripping out the seats and stuff to fabricate a bilge fan bracket.

I can out of air box into 3" tee then reduced to 2 - 1.5" flex pipes that come up each side of air box. Use 2" x 3" female coupler coming out of air box. Used dremel to grind inside out to 2.5" so no loss in air flow. Used warrior risers for a finished look. Pics are from mock up. I did add a 3" rubber connection between air box and tee to make easier to remove for maintenance. A little trimming to air box cover and front panel of bed to allow snorkel to clear and every thing works good.

This looks like maybe the best option yet. What did you need to grind out with the dremel? What type of flex pipe? Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

I used a 2" x 3" female coupler to come out of factory flex tube on air box. Inside of 2" female coupler is actually 2.5" Sam as stock air pipe. But there is a ridge inside the coupler that is 2" inside diameter. I used the dremel to grind this ridge out so there was no reduction in air flow.

The flex pipe is 1.5" PVC smooth flex pipe. It is compatible with schedule 40 fittings.

$23 from Napa. Stock rough filter will push right in the end. Adds about 8" height compared to stock inlet and also moves it to a safe spot verses right up front where water can easily splash in....View attachment 45389

Does that hose keep the same inside diameter as stock?
Thanks

I went the same route as @Macory. This was a good idea. Ordered the Gates hose from Amazon. They are up to $33 now. Picked up a pack of hose clamps from Advance Auto for $3. It took some effort to get the hose over the nipple but that's ok, it was a good tight fit. Liked about a 1/4" getting the hose pushed down all the way. Put the hose clamp on and stuffed the stock filter in the end. 0d120b390ae9362a0de4ec65aad372f051b614dcc0c98913a14e0c2722832a69
