Thought I would share what I have done over the last 3 years to make our enclosed trailer suite our needs a little better.
Bought it used, it’s a 22' 2004 hallmark, for $3100.
Brought it home and tore the plywood walls off to insulate it with the pink insulation foam board you can find at Home Depot. Also sprayed the inside of the exterior aluminum sheeting with a sound deadening aerosol. DEI 050220 Boom Mat Spray-on Sound Deadening to Reduce Unwanted Road Noise and Vibration https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001URKV0G/?tag=sxsweb24-20
There’s nothing worse then you friend ol’ Smokey coughing out his right lung at 6:30 in the morning, when you stayed out late on a night run. Walls back on, insulated the roof and sheeted it with 1/4” plywood. Built some brackets under the tongue to hold 3 group 31 semi truck battery’s and wired in a 1500 watt inverter to them. Above the batteries the tongue got skinned with 3/16” aluminum sheet to hold the 2 propane tanks
Found a pipe thread manifold that I could tie multiple lines or appliances to.
The propane runs a rv type heater
These are the vents on the inside that blow the heat into the living area
Used a cadet style thermostat to turn it on and off because they were a third of the cost of one made for a rv. For safety of the family I put 2 carbon monoxide/propane detectors, one next to the thermostat and the other down near the floor next to the heater unit itself. We have camped in 2’ of snow around 20 degrees out and went out for a night run, with the heater cranked to the moon it was 90 degrees when we got back
