Hi all - still exploring my options on the direction I’m going to go but leaning towards the 1000-5D. I’ll need a trailer and would prefer an enclosed one so I can keep all my ice fishing gear on it when on trips. At some point I’d like to get tracks. Can anyone provide a recommendation on door height with tracks? Is a 78” or 79” door opening enough?

Thanks for your time.

Empire Cargo in GA is on eBay and has some of the lowest prices around. I had them build me a 34' enclosed carhauler with an additional 12" height (7 1/2 ft) and coin rubber flooring with 10 5K floor rings. Price on it was $7450 I sold it a year later for $800 more than I paid for it after moving.

They will build to your specs in 3 weeks, to answer your question I recommend an additional 18" height over the standard 6.5 ft or 78" My P1K5D was 82" tall with just 28" tires and a 2" lift and OEM roof. That 96" should get you clear.

I have been looking for an enclosed trailer too. I test fit mine a the dealer for a friend that bought a 1000-5 and found that I needed a 7' internal height and preferred the 8' wide trailer. I could not get my buggy into the 6'6" trailer, even after taking off the OEM roof I was still 2" too tall at the door.

After looking at many on lots, thinking to order a 8x18, 7 ft high, beavertail, Spartan trailer. 7 X16 works but a little tight, 8.5 wide is overkill and harder to see around with stock truck mirrors. P500 and Rancher atv.

Is there a good way to get a pioneer 1000-5 with 29" tires and oem roof into an enclosed trailer that's 68" high? I found a great deal on one...

Can the suspension be compressed somehow enough to squeeze it in there? Has anyone tried this with success?

Put your stockers back on or pull down the suspension.

Man that’s going to be a tight fit. I don’t think I’d put up with that hassle for very long, despite the deal.

My interior height is 81” and there’s not much room left with stock tires, no lift and a Honda roof.

you could let air out of the tires but that would be a pia imo.

68" ???

78" would be tough with a factory machine and factory roof. I am somewhere around 83" but I do have larger tires. No lift though, I think floor to skid is only 4" further than stock.
