Along with what @TripleB says a switched fan blowing across the headers under the seat pretty much takes care of the rest of the heat. Before my Quick Shield I wouldn't let children ride in the passenger seat due to fear of a flash steam burn if running through water puddles. The fan can be simple or elaborate, your choice. I used a 10 inch radiator fan for a Civic and HD zip ties to mount it.This is my first spring/summer with my 2016 Pioneer 1000-3. I noticed that the cabin heats up from engine heat on longer rides even though the machine is staying well within operating temps. Any ideas on how to reduce heat from engine on longer rides?

I put the quick shield and a bilge fan in mine. Copied how @bumperm did his fan. I highly recommend doing both.

No body wants to hear it but the best way to manage the heat is to remove the microwave box situation (doors, windows, windshield etc). This is my first spring/summer with my 2016 Pioneer 1000-3. I agree. I've been running a half shield in the warmer months since I got the machine. I have a full windshield and can't stand it even with the bottom tipping out for ventilation. It's like being in an aquarium. I have soft doors for the winter months but take them off as well for riding season. But, even running open air like I do, the heat coming out of the seat belt area had sweat rolling down my back and hitting a water hole with the hot engine made for a steam bath. That's what the quick shield is for.No body wants to hear it but the best way to manage the heat is to remove the microwave box situation (doors, windows, windshield etc).
Everything is a trade off, the more cab type stuff you have the more dust and heat you get. The less you have the more exposed to the elements you are, but overall cooler and less dusty. The sheild helps as well as a seat fan, but they only go so far.
Yea, but it doesn't help with dust! Sorry I had to say it before someone else did. HA!I agree. I've been running a half shield in the warmer months since I got the machine.
