Looking for some help on this one. I have a 2019 1000X, roughly 1600 miles and I’ve slowly noticed over the past weekend ride that changing between any gear selection (P, R, N, H, L) became harder and harder (more force) to move the gear shifter into position. No problem once in gear, no grinding in low, never had that issue either. Now the gear shifter is so stiff to move I’m afraid I’ll break something just to get it out of park. I checked the sub transmission oil level and its fine, and I checked the shifter linkage and there doesn’t appear to be any breaks or restrictions. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Pop off center console, easy to get into just pull out about 8-12 pop tabs. The linkage has a home, a place where it sits in the frame by the shifter. Assure it's lined up and tightened down as expected. My guess, something is off or snagged there causing it to be too tight. Good luck!

Welcome to the site from the once great state of Colorado.

The link in my sig will take you to some basic Talon information if you haven't seen it. It's also a sticky in the General Talon Discussion forum making it easier to find.

I have seen in some instances where the cable connection to the subtrans gets gunked up with mud and crap if never cleaned off. I have not personally had this problem or looked into it but the solution was to clean it off and make sure it was lubed.
