Foxes are 3” in the rear and 2.5” in the front spring diameter. Also when @GlockMeister got the numbers off his spring and we looked them up the 1000-5 comes with progressive springs rear:187/350 and the front:252/350 I was surprised at the front springs .. hoping we can get someone with a 1000-3 to get the numbers off theirs for comparison

I thought they were larger springs but I wasn’t sure about shock body. I have an early version and they are same diameter.

I believe the shock bodies are the same - to use the 2.5" diameter springs you would need to replace the spring isolators to fit the 2.5" vs the 3"

Below is when I was trying a 12" long, 2.5" dia, 275# spring that @joeymt33 had loaned me to try so they will go over the shock body but without the isolators the spring is going to rub up against the shock body. I ended up ordering a 14" length spring as well for the front and back to get closer to the top of the shock body. it has been a learning experience for sure and While I have gotten to go test a couple of times to make sure everything is set right I am looking forward to Takeover to really feel it out. I also ended up ordering a 300# for the rear and a 250# for the front ….

I have 14” springs 2.5” diameter, 250/300 front rear. I got them from Snuff and I was thinking 225/275 but that’s what Joey has. I have heavy windshield and heavier battery and rear winchmount he doesn’t have so it equals out.

Also I had 250 pound front springs but I moved the lower shock mount closer to the ball joints so that forced me to use a lighter weight spring. I just wanted to clarify that in stock location 225 seems to be too light but 250 seems just right.

So for future reference: one thing about exploring springs -

@Cuoutdoors was able to find the spring ID on his 1000-3 LE with Fox shocks
Front = 12.5" length, 2.50 diameter, 225#
Rear = 15.25" length, 3.0 diameter, progressive 171/300#

1000-5 fox shocks (for reference)
Front = 14.5" length 2.5 diameter, progressive 252/350#
Rear = 15.5" Length 3.0 diameter, progressive 187/350#

So if you are going to be changing spring to test you should note the difference above

So if I want to move them from the 10003 to the 10005, I think I would leave the rear the same and change the front to a 14in 250 spring.

I am personally REALLY happy with the 250/300 F/R.

I was impressed by the difference between stock and Fox then changing the springs was a bigger difference than that. I don’t need to soak up a 50mph rut I need good contact on ROUGH terrain at slow speed and a good ride on rough trail to about 20mph. Which is where everyone I ride with stays speedwise. The terrain is just to rough to go fast you’re gonna year stuff up on a regular basis.

Thanks for the feedback on terrain and speed. Most of my riding is 30-50mph in sand or gravel with rolling hills. Ill see how we do at Takeover in what i expect to be rockier and slower terrain.

Yeah, not many places we will see those speeds. Not for long anyway.

Lets talk next week. I want the same thing. My trail riding is 0-20mph tops (probably most is around 15) and I want it as smooth as possible. If I'm going faster than that its on roads that arent very rough anyway. So I'd like to make my suspension better to really soak up the bumps at low speeds.

Dumb question but is the total length of the front shocks the same on both machines? eye bolt to eye bolt...

You need to ride in mine, Khan’s and Ohana’s... that will give a good comparison for different setups.
