I used the same kind of steel as Joey I think its "1080" or also referred to as cold rolled..... I think Joey used 3/4" square and it worked well. I went to my local welding shop and all they had was some 7/8" solid round. I lucked out and It fits perfectly in the groove and sits flush with the frame.

I honestly considered just cutting them out completely and making new ones from 2in channel.

Not crazy about putting more holes in my skid plate but i had noticed the skid warping from the heat. So i popped a few holes for circulation.

I’ve noticed that mine will warp when it’s hot but then it returns back to shape after it cools down. Let me know how that goes, I may have to try the same.

Had to replace another rear outer cv tonight so i thought id do a little write up...pretty sure @joeymt33 has a write up somewhere too.
Any way heres the pics and instructions... @Ragnar406
Remove old boot...razor knife works good
20190713 200625
20190713 200857

Use punch and hammer to remove outer bearing and cv shaft...
20190713 201252
20190713 201416

Clean off excess grease and mark bearing, race, and cup. This is important...so you can remove and reintall the ball bearing in order.
20190713 202238
remove and clean all parts carefully
20190713 203958

Then reinstall in reverse order....
20190713 202238

Get replacement boot kit...i use the all balls boot..tusk band cutter and banding tool..
20190713 205056

Put boot onto axle shaft..
20190713 210711

Grease bearing liberally and reintall on shaft. You will have to use a small screwdriver to hold in the set clip
20190713 211033

Squeeze rest of grease in package into boot and slide boot into place. Cinch down bands and trim off excess band.
20190713 212707

All done!

Upgraded tires on my trailer yesterday because both tires developed big bulges. Cheap tires i guess.

That’s funny you did that. I just got 9 new trailer tires last week (the ninth was my spare for the 5er) 4 for my 5er toy hauler and 4 for my tandem. I bought Carlisle trail HD’s. Have a speed rating of L (75 mph) load range E for the 5er and D for the tandem highest for the size. All an upgrade from before and needed. Good peace of mind for sure.

Been awhile...but its maintenance time again. After complete teardown found....
All Super ATV bushings are shot
Driver sides upper control arm mounting tab holes are wallered out.
Both upper ball joints need replaced
Passenger side outer tierod worn
Drivers inner tie rod had worked loose.
Ordered all new bushings and a Super ATV frame stiffener with gusset kit.
Also will have to do weld washers on upper control arm tabs.
