Maybe if I get a really big antenna we can talk to each other to try them out! I struggled to find a place to put my mic and ended up putting it on the dash by the radio because it kept the cord out of the way.

Wife got me a new radio for Christmas. Finally got it put in. Will be nice not having to worry about keeping the handheld charged up. Gotta figure out where i want to put the mic yet.

I put one of these in for mic, my radio is mounted above but it would work either way,,,,

Yeah i have one of these..i just got tired of the speaker mic from my handheld floppin around and wanted to hard mount this one. They do make it easy to access the mic though.

I had mine up by the rollbar on one of those when I first put it in but it bounced around when just riding around the neighborhood. I just used some self tappers and the mount that came with the 8600 on the dash.

I 2nd - they are a bit pricey but do a great job. I used to use the gear keepers but I have seen where a few mic cords have gone bad due to bouncing around and eventually wearing an internal wire into a break.

Got my new high volume nitro caps installed. Pretty easy to do but the snap rings on the front were a b**** to get out. Taking them in tomorrow to get the nitrogen refilled.
