Hello, I'm just wondering what you consider is a safe speed to drive your Honda Pioneer 1000 on the road with stock tires. And if you have changed tires have you found a good Tire that can be used on road and off road? Thanks in advance

My machine has the original Bighorns - have hit 66.
No half sends.

And no, the Bighorns aren't good pavement tires. My next tires are likely Kanati Mongrel 10-ply.
A lot of others say they are great on and off road. They are DOT compliant.

I’ve got the Kanati Mongrel 10 ply on my P1000-3. I like them alot. Good all purpose tire.

Being a slow dry rider , Back roads for us is cruising at about 60 - 70 klms or 35 - 45 mph . The machine purrs nice at that speed. Also I feel pretty comfortable at that speed. LOL

It will do everything it’s going to do on the stock bighorns in a good straight road. Stock height and stock 14 inch bighorns I generally run 35-45 on the crooked a$$ roads of eastern ky. Less in the rain.

I keep it under 50 mph on stock tires because i love my machine too much to give it road rash>>>
