We retired in Montana, and when the P5 ‘fun is done’ after hunting season, I want to mount a snow plow on it.

I want a winch that can be installed either front or rear. The Search and Rescue team has their Rhino set up with a winch electrical connector front and rear. I’d like the winch up front when hooking up the plow, and the option to put is on the rear if/when I get stuck and want to be winched backwards.

After going Google shopping, I’m not finding an answer. Does anybody know:

1. Who makes a front receiver hitch that bolts on a P5?

2. Can I find one 1 1/4” to match the rear hitch?

3. Who makes a winch mounting plate in 1 1/4”?

If I can only find 2” for the front, I’ll have to use an adapter from 1 1/4” in the rear. Not what I want but not the end of the world.

Now the tough part-

4. Will any of the snowplow blade mounting brackets work with (and fit with) a front receiver mounted winch?

Has anybody else done this?

Thanks!

Saturday morning coffee on the web.

KFI sells both a 2” front receiver hitch and a plow mount. I have a call into them.

Still, any help appreciated!

That looks like a rear 2” mount.
I’ll call KFI and Warn and ask them if it will work.

bowhunterbill,

I'm just finishing up a custom 2 x 2 hitch for the front of my P5.
I will be starting a thread with pictures and dimensions that may be of some help to you.

That is great. Please post here when you do.

I found KFI sells a 2” hitch on a plate with the same bolt pattern as their bracket. The issue is it would put the winch where the stick bumper is.

I drew this and sent to KFI tech support- but no reply yet.

I completely understand what you are needing and the problem.

You need the receiver tube to be pass the front push bar by at least 2". I measured it and needs to be a 8" receiver tube in order to get the removable winch to clear the push bar and to get the hitch pin in.
