Take a look at the Bison. I was about to order a Strongmade but ran across the Bison that gives a lot more protection and I use stock Honda winch mount with it.

Ya, was looking at the Bison, but passed. Have their rear bumper which is nice, but I don't want my winch down that low for plowing and mudding reasons, lol.

I do really like the "full coverage" aspect of the Bison.

Question for all the 5x8 and 5x10 trailer peoples (Or whatever else size):
Do you really *need* the ramp? 26" tires, I should be able to crawl up onto the trailer without a ramp, right?
Or does it bounce around too much?

Why size Stinger does one need to manage power for the whole system? Plan is to route all power, including winch draw, through this relay.

A Viper 6k is what I will be running. At max amp draw, Viper states its 330a draw on a 1st layer pull. Factor in some lights (~30a), Sound bar (?amps), and maybe a heater. Stinger makes an 80a, 200a, and 500a model. It sounds like the 500 is what I need.

Thoughts?

If you’re looking for a bumper with a winch mount on top, check out the C-fab bumper

I have a 5x8 tilt trailer. If parked in a somewhat strategic spot, tilting not needed (27" tires).

Side note: this small tilt trailer has the axle located further forward than a standard trailer. Results in much more weight needed forward of the axle. With the P5 on there I get trailer sway, so I have to add weight to the tongue.
Therefore I don't recommend a 5x8 tilt trailer for the P500.

FWIW...I'm running two 300 amp circuit breakers. One is dedicated to the winch and the other for all accessories.

I have a 300amp breaker, and the 6k elite widespool viper winch, along with some lights etc.
My thoughts were, light and medium pulls it should be fine, but if I have to do a REALLY hard pull, I'm going to double (or triple) the line with a couple snatch blocks so the winch doesn't have to work so hard.
I also carry a 20' and 15' tow straps, some shorter tree savers etc.

I plan to run my winch through a 300 amp breaker. All of my other accessories will go through a fused relay (won’t have to have a fuse block).

Thoughts on 28x10x14 tires and rubbing? Looking hard at the Tusk Terrabite Aramids in this size. Per RMATV, the true size is 27.25". Will probably end up with a 1" spacer on 14x7 (5+2) wheels.

I’m running 27s no issue. Maybe the spacers might give you some turn clearance. PSI also a factor on tire diameter. Lots of threads searching 28. Here’s one with a @trigger reply.

You might be alright with those unless you're running Ricochet rock sliders as they protrude into the wheel well a little. 26x11, 5+2 and 1" spacer rubbed the rock slider. Why 14's? I know it opens up the tire choices but doesn't leave much sidewall to cushion the ride.

Will probably end up with SSS full skids/arm guards as well as the Honda nerfs (know anything about those?.....)

As for the tires and wheels; my ideal size would be 27x10x12, but they unfortunately don't make it. I think I want the same size on all 4 corners for simplicity sake. 9s seem too skinny and 11s seem too wide. Also, there's the wheel selection aspect. I can't seem to find anything I like in a 12".

2 Questions for trailering peoples:
1> Any recommended jacks for 5x10 utility trailer? Scissor VS bottle? or is a $20 harbor freight scissor jack good enuf?
Have a good one in the truck I can drag over and use if I need to, just looking for one to keep on the trailer toolbox.

2> Anybody put on trailer sway control for these little things? Trailer is max rated at 3000lbs, I might get over 2000 once in a while, but not very often. Was a trucker for like 7 years, so used to hauling bigger stuff, this is the smallest trailer I've ever hauled, lol.
