Are you say
I finally got around to getting these numbers posted
Intake base circle 32.14 lifted 39.47
Exhaust base circle 35.28 lifted 40.09

Are you saying the intake lobe has 6.3mm lift and the exhaust is 4.81mm lift?

I'm not good with metric numbers! lol

Intake - 1.554" - 1.265" = 0.289" lift
Exhaust - 1.578" - 1.389" = 0.189" lift

Don't know the rocker ratio's for valve lift. Would probably have to measure lift at the valve to calculate that correctly.

I wanted to post on the african twin forum and see if anyone had the same specs on its cam.

They may not be the best measurements but that is what I am trying to say.
Its back together or I would take a magnet base and dial indicator to the exhaust valve to see what the actual lift is for you I had almost forgot about these numbers.

82.5 hp and 67 pound-feet of peak torque are delivered in a perfectly linear manner

African twin^

I don't believe the Pioneer is as far off from the africa twin as people are saying.

Not to mention that's a 500lb bike and this is a 1500lb bike that holds 5 people.

I don't know if these numbers are off the crank or the wheel though.

94 hp and 72 lb-ft to the crank on the Africa Twin. 85.7 hp and 67 lb-ft to the wheel on another test.

72 hp to the crank per the CARB Report on the pioneer. 55 hp and 52 lb-ft to the wheel.

That 0.289" lift on the intake is pretty anemic.

Quick up date I hand ordered factory coils and resistor boots, the long boot through the center of the head was to long for the front spark plug so I order a African Twin boot the interesting thing is it came in a sealed Honda bag and said NGK on it.
It came Monday so hopefully have time to play Saturday :)

VTEC would really kick up numbers, built to a b16 CTR spes from 1990 it'll produce 100hp, VTEC never fails once you have oil pressure. I always enjoyed VTEC in my civic prelude swap.

Aviation motors generally use the twin plug design, my rotax powered ATV uses 2 plug per cylinder.

Does that mean we have to drive on two wheels all the time? I spend quiet a bit of time on two wheels, anyways!

Honda advertises 44mm throttle bodies on the Pioneer but they have a 40mm restrictor in them here is a picture of the
pioneer sitting in the African Twin adapter it is a true 44mm intake

Africa is missing 2 bolt holes and is a little different but will bolt on. Don't know how well it will seal without those bolts...

I like the milling machine I wish for a small one to sit in my garage.
how did the plastic/rubber cut did it get smooth?
I figured a little silicone would do the job nicely as it set down over the cast lip.

Interesting web site High Performance Math
I put in .999 liters and 9,000 RPM'S :)
interesting considering stock throttle body is 44 mm with a 40 mm re stricter.

Calculate Throttle Body Size Based on Liters

Liters:

Best Power Rpm: This is the rpm at which you want your engine to produce the most horsepower.

Throttle body 3

= 39.9308

39.9308 millimeters (1.5721 inches) is the best size for a street going car. It will provide the best power throughout the rpm range.

39.9308 * 1.15 = 45.92042 millimeters (1.807915 inches) is better for racing. 45.92042 is 15% bigger than the street going version and will provide more horsepower at higher rpm ranges. The drawback is it may cause poor idle and/or make it necessary to increase the idle rpm to make the engine idle smoothly. That, along with less power at lower rpms, is the reason most people do not drive cars with racing engines on the street.
