Hi all! I finally have a question I couldn't find an answer to via the search function:

Has anyone seen or toyed with the idea of buying one of these? Would it be worth the hassle or should I stick with a standard 2" adapter/coupler?

Never see that, But it would raise the hitch to a better level. Almost looks like it might fit with a little modification.

Ideally (for me), I'd like a reinforced plate like this that I could integrate a Bison Rear Bumper with. I'm going to have to find a decent Fab shop locally and report back.

Was thinking of tying in the rear rack to the rear bumper for added strength so a 2" hitch could be added?

Thats my take on it. I'm not set on a design to have fabbed into a Baja cage but I'd prefer to have it mounted to a bumper rather than the cargo rack.

I dug out a couple of Pelican 1630's leftover from my last deployment and they almost fit perfectly:

Those pelican cases are top quality and you won't have to worry about getting any water in thats for sure!

That's high quality trunk space. Those things are near indestructible.

I have a 1690 I procured when some demo equipment went out of service and several other sizes I've collected over the years for various other uses from camera equipment to dive gear.

I found the following pics on another forum and really like the idea/set-up:

The trick will be finding a Fab Shop locally that can do something similar for a reasonable price.

That is sort of what I was thinking of building but I also want to tie it into the rear rack so the bumper has some extra support

If you tie it into the rear rack and the frame you'll take the shocks out of the equation.

I think it is already all tied together. The rack mounts to the frame and the hitch is part of the frame. Thinking the shock moves between the frame and the "A" arm/wheel assembly. The pivot point being the A arms.

Yep, you're right, I wasn't picturing it right in my head there for a minute.
