Think Jak has a pic on here somewhere
...that shows a threaded rod ( not sure the size )
Going end to end...with nuts on each end

I know lots of riders
that have had problems
with big light bars being
Loose....vibration.....
rattling loose..
I'm just saying...
I went with smaller
because of that.
threaded bar from end to end
seem to help
I'm doing the HID bulbs in the factory housings and recessed led's in my strong made bumper, like @Stacy did and two led cubes on each corner of the roof attached to the roll bars for rear cargo and back up lights (I bought brackets like jshell3 for them). I'm thinking that will all be sufficient. But i have to see how the roof and windshield go together before I can even think about a light bar up top.

Not trying to get in your
business. ..I would go with
a better quality clamps
...to keep from having
issues later
From what I saw today, these clamps are well made. I think they will also allow me to push the lightbar out further from my crossbar that I'm mounting it to. The Honda roof has about 8-9" of overhang from the crossbar it clamps to.
So my concern is a bright bright LED lightbar being under roof too deeply.

I would almost go top mount, but given the tree limbs and what knot.

My aim is to give as much under roof protection, without cutting my field of vision, or blinding myself from reflection.

I promise to report the ridgitity of the mounts. But basically, it's all metal... so what's not to like?

It's the span of the light bar
with no support in the middle
it's your deal bro...

The all thread 1/4 nut you eluded to has no middle support.
So I don't really see a difference mounting this way.
But if it needs a little something extra, I'm sure I'll come up with something. :)

I think it would fit there

The stiffness of threaded
rod...is your support

I see what you're sayin, now.
Yeah, if the clamps "move" then the hanging lightbar will drop out of the end bolts.
I may go ahead and add the prevent 1/4" all thread rod.
Won't hurt.
Definitely cheap insurance.

I have similar mounts for my light bar if not the same ones.. Issue I had with them is the bracket that comes with them is not knurled like the bracket on the light bar so it would not hold it securely in position. So I used the bracket that came with the light and just the bar clamp portion of those brackets. I will grab a couple pics of how I set mine up. So far it is holding up and solid as a rock.

Here is how I mounted mine up.. I took off the L bracket that came with the clamps. The bar clamps actually worked out perfect where they were flush with the roof so I just drilled through the roof and used the brackets that came with the light bar and mounted it down to those clamps.

I mounted my 22" right to the plastic roof with the hardware supplied. It has came loose once and was hanging from one bolt.
Not the ones through the roof though, the ones that screw into the bar. It does take a beatin' up there.Front Latest
