P1000 Lightbar Wiring Harness

I purchased a lightbar and wiring harness. The harness connects directly to the battery and has power all the time. Is there a way to wire the harness to where it only gets power when I turn the key on?

What does the pre-wired switch look like?

Sometimes.
You can snip the trigger wire and hook it to a key-on source.

Ya.. idk.

But concept is still the same though.
1 hot wire.
1 trigger wire out.
1 ground wire.

Is that a Rough Country/Cree light bar switch? As others have said, you just need to grab ACCY (Key-On) power and then run the light bar through a relay that's controlled by the Key-On power. You'll want to use a relay because the ACCY circuit is shared with other items and is limited current. For a standard automotive relay, the wiring would be as follows:

• remove the light bar positive connection and connect it to 87
• connect the battery to 30
• connect ground and key-on accy power to 86 and 87 (either way)
• (If the relay has am 87a terminal , it will not be used)

Does this plug into another harness running to your relay. If they are black blue and white like most eBay harness then you need a five pin switch.
