P1000 Loud pop

This morning when i backed up my P1k stopped and shifted into high i heard a loud pop when I started to accelerate. Is this usual? Granted it was 28 degrees last night and i had rinsed some of the dirt off of it.

Really cold diff and subtrans oil can cause slow/sticky engagement, but a single instance of a pop is enough to call for a rear diff cable adjustment.

Trans wasn't quite in gear ?? I've taught myself to look at the indicator to make sure that what ever gear I shift into shows up and not the ---- lines.
