Neg. I don't believe in it. 100 acre and I had an in depth conversation about it last week. The only advantages are being able to rotate and having a spare the same size as all tires. He said he had 3000 miles on his tires and I asked if any one of them had more wear than the others, he said no. So unless you're doing a lot of road running, there went the rotation thing. o_O
I have a spare that is 9" wide like the front and could be put on back to get me home if needed. I think having wider in the back gives you more contact and traction, also evens out the track width. You'll need spacers on the back if you go with same size, unless you're okay with uneven track width? Through the ruts of RRB, I was thankful to have an even track width. My 2 cents...

Having a little wider in back would make it more stable to I would think

The rear spacer should bring width F & R to same dimension. Rear axle flange is narrower on rear than front stock.

I got the new wheels with my 25” tires. It now sits at 51.5” - 52” wide. Not all my pictures loaded but it does look nice. I also bought the Splinned 12mm -1.5 lugs in black for all four corners. As suggested by @trigger . I also bought two new truck tires, some Hankook Dynapros E rated. The P5 looks wider by an inch and I think I’m still gonna go ahead and put 1” spacers on all wheels for a 54” width. The extra two inches just don’t give it enough, at least in my mind, enough stability, especially considering how I drive. No, I haven yet taken it for a test run to check the stability. I figured while it’s still clean from the last pressure washing, that I’d go ahead and address all the other issues way in advance of the Takeover. So for now it’s in the shop getting some much needed attention.
Build and install the Snorkel and extend the vent lines
Build rear box and or buy truck side bed tool box
Change oil and deal with air filter
New brake pads. I had no idea there weren’t any rear brakes
Attack some new pool noodles to the arm/shoulder rests
Second battery for accessories
SSS Off-road under armor lost some bolts holding it up
And a few other odds and endings...

You may not have even needed the splined lug nuts looking at those pics?
That sucks but at least they look better than the stock ones.

I'm guessing that means that your rear pads were shot? I'm pretty sure that is what you meant, but just in case I will add the rear brakes are located on the drive shaft instead of out at the wheel hubs. Please forgive me if I've stated the obvious though.

That rear caliper is a twist back in type as well not just the typical press in with a c clamp. There is a how to on it here somewhere and I believe it linked to the tool that makes it easy peasy to do so.

With your "Tippy" problems, why did you not order the 2+5 ITP wheels-same price and no need for any spacers and another three inches width or so? Just curious.

Because apparently I may be clueless and am incapable of doing math correctly?

The math and filling out forms side of my brian never seems to function well. I can bloviate on the construction of a modern day outhouse but when I build it, it may not be square, heck it might even be a Decatriangularhexahedron...Anyway, I need to figure out what size spacers and rims I need to get to 53” or 54”. I obviously need some stability in my life and my brian is tired of being slammed to either side of my Brian case due to my perpetual floppage. Feeling like the proverbial punk rock mosh pit Easter Bunny already...So @trigger suggested aluminum wheels to reduce weight and I should go with an offset of 4+3 in the bolt pattern 4/110 but after checking ITP’s website, they don’t make a 4+3 in 4/110 on a 12x7 rim. Only 5+2 & 2+5 but trigger said no to the 2+5.
1. One of my many questions is where will 5+2 put me at width wise, and do i need spacers, and if so, what sizes for front and back?
2. Also who should I buy the spacers from
3. Is there a better material that they’re made of; plastic, aluminum or steel?
4. Is the bolt pattern needed when ordering spacers ?

I’m also going to go up to 26” Bighorn Originals

So I’m thinking 26x9x12 in the front and 26x11x12 in the rear. I know a lot of you say go same size all around for a spare. Is it mainly for rotating them if you drive a lot of road time? Can you guys lend your thoughts on same size vs different front vs back?

I kinda need someone to hold my hand through this. So any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I’ve driven it before. It’s just too white and had LSU stickers on it. Gotta consider it totaled at this point. Also, I’m too lazy to sell mine and it feels easier and cheaper to upgrade mine a little bit at a time. There aren’t a whole lot of machines built with very much leg room. I’ve sat in many. Lastly, I’m still looking to move and I’d rather spend a little now while I can, instead of putting out major coin ahead of buying property. Wanna buy some French rifles? Only dropped once...

Since you want a P5 so much why don’t you buy mine? Or trade me? I’d also prefer a 5 seater for more roof coverage. Had it been a 5, I’d have made more of an effort.

I just swapped the wheels on my P500 and took some measurements. The setup is:

14x7 front wheels, 4+3 offset
14x8 rear wheels, 4+4 offset

26x9-14 in front (Kenda Bearclaws)
26x11-14 in rear

The front now measures at 56" and the rear at 58". Looks stable but not a good choice for 50" trails for sure.
