Now for the expensive stuff, a arms, shocks and wheels and tires, HA!

Ha! I’m just getting a proper “base” or “foundation” established. So my first two months of riding I’m not sure I have to lift it. Around here with all the hills we don’t have deep mud. Maybe a 6” creek crossing. I’ve never even been close to being stuck. Snow is more the issue for the deep stuff.

I wired up the interior lights over the weekend.

Basic ON-OFF switch that matches the rest:
On/Off Rocker Switch 12V 5/7Pin Led Light Bar For ATV UTV Off-Road Pickup | eBay
Lights are 9w LED, cheap, easy and small like my, never mind:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018G5MY5O/?tag=sxsweb24-20
Everything was wired with 16 AWG that I've been using to a 5 amp fuse on the fuse panel (9w x 4 = 36w / 12v = 3 amp)

IMG 5247

The wire from the 9w LED's was tiny and was hardest part wiring. I used butt ends to splice it into the 16 AWG wire. A PIA to twist it to the wire and crimp. I thought 4 lamps was the perfect amount of light. It wasn't blinding at night. I thought I was going to have to put two more in the center but 2 on each end was fine. It also cast light next to the machine if I was working on something I can see.

IMG 5265

I may add more because it came with ten of these lamps but this is what I wanted for now.

Me: "I know."

Went for an evening ride and got to use my winch!

Those tiny wires in those lights are a pain I. Soldered mine and there is so many in a pack.I put one in each front fender well and one on each rear step and then reverse lights ! Looks good ,you guys can keep the snow ! 3482313f06bfd711b92a3ab3bbd15f8d0961ca36ac2581ef3093de52d204cf3dD9a5a74c57243a260635b5f5c4db75740743e4139c52036a67afaee4560bf28a

Seeing some recent posts about rear bumpers, got me looking around and on eBay I decided to go with the stock Honda rear bumper, mainly for the price. I guess there is a difference between the 3-P and 5-P stock rear bumpers. I like the stock because it does not interfere with the tailgate or the ability to dump the bed. It was also the cheapest ($184 free ship, no tax) seeing I do not have any welding abilities. It was pretty clean looking for what I needed, protecting the bed and exhaust.

The only negative I could come up with it was a pain in the ASS to mount it because you had to do some Jedi maneuvers to get the bolts lined up and threaded. It also lined right up with my reverse lights. They still work and throws some white out back while in reverse, just not the direct intensity I had before. The trade off for some protection back there. I tried them out at night and they are still fine.

Cutting some new riding trails for the boy’s ATVs. This is half of my riding in close quarters like this. I had a couple good tree sideswipes. Always have to have a chainsaw or handsaw with me for these little trees I can't run over. Pretty steep in places but good fun. We were out for a good 4 hours. There is a pretty big horse farm/boarding next door that we let ride around on the property. The deer are use to humans and don't scare easily. You can see 15-20 of them in the open fields on a nice day.

Upside is that the deer may follow your new trails too!

Got me a trailer just big enough for the machine. On sale at Tractor Supply, $200 off. Couldn't pass it up for the light use I need one for.

Got some stuff back from being powder coated.
Heavy Duty Bolt on D-Ring,Clevis,hydraulic,Offroad,cylinder,shackle,mount, | eBay

Husky 3/4 in. Bow Shackle-54535 - The Home Depot

Everbilt 3/8 in. x 16 tpi x 1 in. Zinc-Plated Grade 8 Hex Cap Screw-809978 - The Home Depot

Bolted on some D-ring tabs. I mounted them on the bumper as close as I could to the frame mounting point. I look at it this way; if I bend or wreck the bumper it’ll be a great excuse to get a better one so for now I’ll try this set up.

I took this idea off the Facebook P1K page:

I had them powder coated when I did my shackles. I also found rubber protectors when I am not using them to keep crap out of tracks and from banging them up. A pretty cool way to have multiple configurations to strap stuff down.

So I heard great reviews for nICE Coolers and pick one up a few weeks ago and I gotta say, I'm impressed.

20 qt

Almost half the price of a Yeti. It's made in China (probably the same factory as Yeti) but I couldn't justify shelling out $250 for an American made Pelican, Grizzly or an Orca. I wanted a smaller cooler to just keep ice for drinks that would last for days on the trail or the boat if needed.

Has some pretty cool features like a completely air tight lid. The gasket is one piece that seals the lid tightly. That red button is to equalize the air pressure so the lid is easier to open. Built in bottle opener. Huge drain plug connect with a stainless chain so you can’t loose it over board. The top is a cutting board and it has some pretty sticky feet to minimize it from sliding around. Built in cup holders. Locking and tie down points. You can stand or sit on it no problem. You can buy a divider that slides down the middle, maybe to keep ice on once side and provisions on the other. Two thumbs up. Make sure you get the 20 qt, not the 22 qt version. The 20 is the one with more features.

You can't stand up standard size wine bottle but 6+ will fit laying on their side. I had a case of bottle beer in there with plenty of room for ice. Could have put a lot more in. I still had ice in it 3 days later and got lots of compliments how ice cold the beer was. The key is to minimize how many time you open it. I'd take 3-4 out at a time or transfer some to another cooler. I bet it holds 36 cans but I have't tried to fill it yet.

Edit: The price went up. When I bought it, $109 with free Prime shipping. Several colors available. That one is like a tan or a lighter FDE.

Why is the cooler empty?

How are you going to convince anyone to buy one without something in it?????
