With big tires it will not matter what comes first, I needed the steering to use the locker.

Either one, depending on your mood. Oily mess = locker. Electrical work and bumped knuckles = power steering. Either way, good luck and the threads on this forum are so helpful. Read in full before starting to get lessons learned from others. Some potential frustration steps in both, like every other job.

I just did both of these last week...no real advantage to doing one before the other....I started with the power steering and then did the locker...for kicks and giggles I did time myself...started the job at 0900am...was tightening the lug nuts for a test drive at 1:35pm..so a total of about 4.5hrs to do both...I managed to save some time by reading what others here had done...especially on the locker.

I have read every post that I can find about the TorqLocker.
There appears to be 2 methods of tackling the job:

#1 as described by @JOffroad

and #2

What one did you use.
Do you have any new tips or hints?

for the locker it's pretty easy to get the diff out without disassembling anything on the passenger side...takes a little effort on reassembly to get the axle to reseat in the diff on the passenger side but that was the hardest part and really not that hard...also make sure you have a drift punch that is small enough and long enough to get the pin in the diff out(remember to not fully remove it..just enough to get the shaft out)...had to grind one down a bit to make it work....it's also really helpful to have an extra set of hands so if you can enlist the help of a buddy I would highly recommend it

I strongly recommend buying a proper pin punch. If you break the drill bit off in there because it's brittle and does not like being hit with a hammer, you will have a very long extraction job with a carbide die grinder burr. Please do not ask me how I know this! A 7/32 x 3" pin on the punch is not very expensive. Buy one a step better than Harbor Freight, you'll be glad you did.

@trailrider500 mentioned 1/8" was a bit too big. Should I be looking for a 7/64" , 3/32", or a 3mm pin punch (a little smaller than 1/8")
EDIT...My Bad...I meant 7/64". Sorry for the confusion.

Per @JWB . 5/32 drill to remove the peening on top. Slightly smaller for pin punch.
