You could probably use anti-fatigue mats that are available for mechanics.
Yep, I talked to a company today that said they have rubber matting which is impervious to gas, oil and diesel. It's also used on the walk boards around motors in the engine rooms of boats and industrial applications. Anywhere gas and diesel is used or transported. I'll be ordering it. Thank you PH.

Went for a ride last night. Didn't notice the seat heat with the new cushion but it wasn't a very hot day. It is a really comfortable cushion. Drilled two small holes to hook the straps under the seat for the straps on the left side. The straps on the right side just hook to each other. Seems to work great. The only disadvantage I can see is that if you were riding at steep angles you might slide around a bit on this cushion. Doesn't grip like the vinyl. So far, I really like it and I think it was a good purchase.

Any 2016 owners had this problem?

I'm wondering if Honda addressed it, as I have been riding my 2016 in temps up to high 80s, and haven't noticed any heat at all.

Otoh, the used 2015 I looked at showed heat damage to the plastic sleeves which hold the seatbelt locks upright.

That's interesting Joe, would you mind removing the seat bottom some time and taking a picture of yours so I can compare it to my 15 model? Thanks

You have a winner! If it works for 15,000,000 Pakistan taxi drivers - it'll work on your P-5. oh... and it works great on motorcycle seats too.

So there's no difference, hmm? Ok, maybe when you start riding in the east Texas hot summer you'll see about the heat coming up from the seat belt mounts???!!!???
I can feel the seat heat during MI winter. I like it then.

Or possibly they addressed it at the heat source?

I still look forward to hearing from other 2016 owners regarding this.
