I know the info must be here be I just wanted to double check with everyone. Stock size for the 1000-5 is 63"W and 116.5". Prudence tells me that a 6x10 should be fine as long as the load capacity measures up. I will probably only trailer it up to the ranch and then use the trailer occasionally with the Pioneer for hauling materials up and down some hills. So, I guess I'm looking for the smallest foot print that will fit the Pioneer and then not be to heavy or wide for using with the Pioneer. Any thought or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I use a 6x10 sometimes. It just barely fits. I don't have a pic of the P1000 on it but here's a shot of the P700 on it.

I'll be hauling it at least 4 hours north and want to use it onsite. The standard 6x10's look totally serviceable. I wish I could get a better deal from the local dealership. Thank you gentlemen.

Back to the thread, 6'x10' looks to be the absolute minimum correct? Single axle or double axle, short range hauling lends itself to lower duty and therefore, will stay smaller for the trails. Agreed?

I agree with you. I have no worries hauling my pioneer anywhere on that little trailer. It's a 3500lb axle so I am well with in the limits. I keep the hubs greased and a spare tire is mounted to the trailer. One thing I did do is find a set of LT tires instead of the standard trailer tires. They are "C" load rated and a little tonight than the originals.

I'm using a 6" X 10" which I've had for several years, but it is definitely a bare minimum for the 1000. As soon as I upgrade to a larger tow vehicle, a bigger trailer will be a priority. Here's a few pics of mine the day I brought it home.

One thing you want to look at is the quality of the trailer. There are some better then others and not much difference in price. I was going to buy one out of Northern Utah, but then noticed the tongue was a light duty single rectangle tube. It made me start looking around and I found a BETTER built one for not much more money. It's like a lot of people have said, spend the money upfront and get one that will last or buy a cheap one and spend the money 2 or 3 times. I ended up going with a 6x12 and like the extra room if I want to put something up front with the rig. Good Shopping.

Starting to consider building one. I've got time while I put together my down payment and pay down the credit card. 6-800$ built plus registering or 12-1500$ purchased. Anybody building their own? Found some free plans online and looks pretty straight forward.

I'd considered building my own also but got a great deal on a 77" x 12' single so I just bought instead. Grab a tongue, axle and some angle iron. Wouldn't be very hard at all. I replaced alot of the frame on my 5x8 myself. Overloaded the crap out of it and got it all twisted out of shape. I added some gusseting also. I bet I could haul that same load again with no problems.

I think I've arrived at the same boat. I could build it. I put together a shopping cart and I was already at $600 and that didn't include steel or paint. The baseline around me is $1200. I fold, but I may not buy. If I can rent one for transpo then I'll build the ranch trailer I really need instead of trying to dual purpose.

I found a guy on Craig's list that sells them lower than anyone else around here. He's retired and sells on the side. Got mine for 925.00. Plus 70 for the spare.

Sweet! Will he do free shipping to Los Angeles?
Lmao I'm thinking probably not, no matter how much gas prices drop lol. I had a 66 VW shipped from oakdale, CA to TN several years ago lol. Seems like it cost me around 900 bucks.
