I'm trying to figure out a good way to mount a spare tire and rotopax. I'd like to find a way where I can use it with tailgate up or down but not sure how to make that happen. So, I'm leaning towards mounting it to the bed extender and leaving the tailgate down. I know a few guys have done that...how exactly did you mount it and are you happy with it that way? Any other suggestions?

Another thought I had was to mount the Rotopak on the vertical roll bar in the back. Has anyone tried that?

I have this mounted on my P1k. Works great.

I like mine accessible and easy to remove. I don't always carry it. It's never moved out of position either.

I had the rotopak on the vertical bar on the very back. It was on the outside of the bar going to the front so the dump bed still worked. It would continually get hooked on branches or just start rotating with wind resistance going down the road. I ended up installing to rotopak on top of my dog box, went the whole hunting season without issue.

Dang! I was actually going to put it on the inside of the bar. Didn't think about the bed dumping. Thanks for that input.

I saw a while back where somebody used a trailer spare tire mount on the bed extender but I can't find that post. Has anybody done that?

I used a homemade hitch job. It’s works good but I couldn’t let the tailgate down with it in. But it was free with some scrap stuff I had.

That is VERY similar to what I had in mind, except instead of having a specific use (spare/fuel), it would be more generic. About width of Pioneer X 1.5 ft, with mesh bottom and 6" rail around to hold everything in ..... like fuel, spare, or a dead deer!

Had one on my 700 like that 24” x 3” instead of 18x6 it was HEAVY itself add deer to it and it was wheelie time going up a decent hill. I chopped it up for something else.

I dont believe it would be a problem for the 1K, esp with the TC bumper and winch added to the front. My son made a similar one for his truck, that was not heavy at all.

Homemade. I like that spare isn't outside the vehicle.
